Amybeth McNulty is an Irish-Canadian[2] actress. She is known for her starring role as Anne Shirley in the CBC/Netflix drama series Anne with an E (2017–present), based on the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.[2][3]

Early life

McNulty was born to an Irish father and a Canadian mother. She is from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. McNulty is a natural blonde, contrary to the widespread public belief that she is a redhead. She dyed her hair red for her role in Anne with an E.

Career

McNulty has previously appeared in the RTÉ One series Clean Break and Agatha Raisin.[4] Since 2017, she has starred as Anne Shirley in the CBC/Netflix drama series Anne with an E, which is based on the 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
