Please change your signature as it is violating WP:Fair use, the Penn State logo should only be used "to illustrate the organization, item, or event in question" and it shouldn't be used on talk pages, etc. It's also against WP:SIG because it's an image in a sig. Please also see WP:FUIR. Thank you.++aviper2k7++ 00:39, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Xanderer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! --T-rex 23:31, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PSU Template

I had just finished making one seconds after you did. At first I thought someone hadn't put it on the colleges, then I saw you just did one now. The box should be navy rather than blue though, for future reference. --Wizardman 03:07, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Xanderer. Good job creating the Penn State alumni category. Instead of putting all of the individual football players into the cat, though, you should simply add Category:Penn State Nittany Lions football players to the category. Take a look at Category:Harvard alumni, for an example. ×Meegs 16:19, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meegs: Thanks for your help. (I knew there was a better way.) I was unable to post to your talk page due to some spam filter issue. I'll try to figure it out. —Xanderer 18:35, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slurpee category and image

Hi, I've just removed Image:Lil-Slurpee.gif from User slurpee, because we arn't allowed to put images with a fair-use rationale (such as logos) onto user pages. Sorry about that! SeventyThree(Talk) 05:58, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HFStival List

Thank you for working on this contributing page for HFStival. I did an immediate edit, moving Margret Heater to the M's, not H. Because its a band, not a person. If the chart on the HFStival page does not help with your dates, I am sure I can help you out additionally. Talk to me | vi 01:12, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also noticed just now your link to Fidel was incorrect. I corrected that as well, as I just started an article on them last night. --vi 06:06, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for updating the HFStival page this morning. In keeping the page theme, once a band has performed, we are not linking them again. So that's an FYI. I also reformatted your citation, so as to be able to quickly go back and write out the full citation so it can show at the bottom of the page, as this article becomes fully flushed out to wikipedia expectations.--vi 18:21, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gotcha. Thanks for the tip-in. Incidentally, do you know how to make the columns span the whole with of the table? (After a lot of frustration, I decided to go ahead and post the information first and experiment with the table later.) —Xanderer 18:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like you figured it out with the colspan, as I was going to suggest. I didn't go to the festival this year. I am currently weeding through pictures taken yesterday for some to upload to wikimedia commons for usage. I think the article would read better with images peppered throughout. Also, while you're add it, could you reorder the side stage and local stage for 2006? I believe that's the flow. I also added a quick statement about the buzz tent being cancelled for this year. I don't like my wording, so feel free to change that. --vi 21:42, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there! I saw that you've contributed to the Yellowcard page. I've been working hard all weekend to get it into an encyclopedia-worthy article, and I think we're almost there!

There's a short list of things that still need some work at the bottom of the talk page. If you could take a look at it, maybe add more things to do, or clean up whatever you see needs work, I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks for your help. Have an awesome day! Cathryn 10:10, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Xanderer,

I was a bit surprised by your edit summary for Greg Buttle. Was this a typo? Thanks, GChriss 00:06, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just being silly. I worship Greg Buttle—I think he's an oft-overlooked star. Someone once misunderstood me when I was saying his name and it has made me chuckle ever since. Sorry if I offended. I meant no harm. —Xanderer 02:30, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No offense taken -- I was curious more than anything else. It is an interesting name. Take care, GChriss 05:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Snallygaster

This page may help you expand the Snallygaster article. Also, it seems the Snallygaster should be in the Legendary creatures category and not the Cryptids category. Also, the Encyclopedia Mythica page the first link mentions is here. -- J. [ tlk | con | #'s ] @ 07:00, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Art Houston

A question out of nothing but curiosity: What was the deal with Art Houston? I became curious when you deleleted the reference from Pottstown, Pennsylvania and noticed his article had been deleted and protected. Just curious—I've never heard of him. —Xanderer 01:04, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found it under "recent changes" one day, and someone had just prodded it and then User:Timebuilder deleted the 'prod' notice, so I submitted it to AFD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Art Houston. After review, it was deleted, and then today, it was recreated, so I tagged it for speedy, and an admin deleted it, and then it was recreated, and then I retagged it for speedy again, and that admin protected it. I figured since now it was really dead, I went and checked the "What links here" and then did a bit of link cleanup. Sertrel 01:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Was it poorly written, or bogus, or what? (And why do I care?) —Xanderer 23:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just... completely non-notable, just a guy. And what bugged me was how when people said he was non-notable, he claimed that he really was 'somebody' and then started injecting himself into other articles, or writing up his better-known friends to try and have some of their legitimacy rub off on him. So I did some AfD's. As for 'why' you care, I don't know, curiosity? Sertrel 00:18, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed on the Mike Reid disambigution talk page, that you didn't known where Mike Reid, the football player and songwriter, should have an article. I decided on the football portion because I have a feeling people will know him more as a football player than a songwriter. My opinion is biased because I follow football much more than country music. If you, or others, feel the opposite is true, then I have no qualms about it being moved to the appropriate place. I agree. Hardly a consensus

Three cheers for your comments concerning the lack of a consensus on several deletions today. (Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 October 1) I don't know how strongly you feel about this issue, but I appreciate you weighing in. I am very concerned about this trend toward Over-Deletionism and plan to stay on it. Any input is greatly appreciated. -Xanderer 17:56, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just an FYI, though, in my opinion, Kbdank71 typically does an awesome job of discernment. (Look further up his talk page for some other comments of mine.) Sometimes a CfD can be confusing, though, and as far as I can tell, he welcomes the comments. - jc37 18:02, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know?

Updated DYK query On 16 October, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Nancy Dickerson, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

The Miracle at the Meadowlands

Thanks for asking for that cite ... not only did I put it in, I decided to start the long-overdue task of making all the references into specific footnotes. Daniel Case 04:32, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
