Dr. Raquel Barros del Rosario-Fortun, M.D., F.P.S.P. is the first Filipina forensic pathologist in the Philippines. She is a professor at the College of Medicine of the University of the Philippines Manila and was the chairperson of the Department of Pathology. [2]

Dr. Fortun studied B.S. in Psychology at the University of the Philippines Diliman and attained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the East – Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. College of Medicine. She completed her Residency Training in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at the UP-PGH, Specialization in Forensic Pathology under Dr. Donald Reay of the King County Medical Examiner's office in Seattle, Washington, and other Forensic and Legal Medicine courses abroad.[3]

She had been consulted on cases such as the Ozone Disco fire, the Dacer-Corbito case, 2006 Subic Rape Trial, the 2005 Ortigas shooting incident, the Asian Spirit tragedy, the Maguindanao massacre, and the death of Trina Etong, the wife of Ted Failon, and the Assassination of Benigno Aquino Jr.. Personal life
She was married to Dr. Vincent Lohengrin V. Fortun, an obstetrician-gynecologist and they have a child named Lisa. [8]
