Signature

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. That's four tildes, not three. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Stifle (talk) 13:01, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Given that International Standard Book Number is unambiguous, and International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a weird disambiguation which points to the same article, I can't fathom why it would be preferable to go via a redirect. Can to shine some light on this? Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:05, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's to find broken ISBN links. I went through most direct links on Special:WhatLinksHere/ISBN and Special:WhatLinksHere/International_Standard_Book_Number. I don't mind if you revert them, as I'm done for now. I came across them when I fixed a couple of thousand of entries on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Check_Wikipedia#ISBN_wrong_syntax_.28AutoEd.29. -- User:Docu
Okay. Would probably have been a good idea to have put that in the edit summary, though. Cheers. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:01, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've now done all of these except {{infobox Book}}, which is full prot. Can you revert that one? Cheers. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 15:12, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Thanks (in six months from, maybe we should check them once more). -- User:Docu

Question

Have you considered adding info on your user page to indicate that you're an admin? It would be useful to other users in helping build the Wikipedia project. thanks LibStar (talk) 14:28, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm considering. Have you consider withdrawing the statement you made on ANI the other day? -- User:Docu
the ANI is closed and marked as resolved and thus cannot withdraw it now. LibStar (talk) 14:31, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it was closed, but you keep re-visiting the question. Are you attempting to avoid debating the present AfD? BTW where do you think would be a good place to note how users can verify if another user is an administrator. -- User:Docu
no the ANI was based on the assumption you were not an admin, and I subsequently apologised to you for that. I am not attempting to avoid any AfD. As for where to indicate that you are an admin, why not check other admins' user pages. LibStar (talk) 14:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Everybody has the same link on user contributions .. quite easy actually. Maybe it should go into some "how to". Anyways, would have at look at this AfD and reconsider your argumentation? -- User:Docu

No need to reconsider, it will be closed within 24 hours and I'll let the closing admin decide its outcome. LibStar (talk) 15:11, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? This could simplify closing the debate and save admin time? -- User:Docu
Please start signing your posts with four tildes. That makes your talk page more accessible to other users. And if you are an administrator, please say so on your user page. Thanks. Edison (talk) 19:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HellO! Is there anything further you can add to expand this? Best, --A NobodyMy talk 16:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
