History
The Cambridge Township Fire Department, also known as the CTFD, is volunteer department in Lenawee County. Originally known as the Onsted Fire Department in 1995 had a merger with Cambridge Township Fire Department.
The Cambridge Township Fire Department is led by the Fire Chief, who is currently Scott Damon . The Fire Chief is appointed by the township board. He is assisted by the Assistant Chief, Jeff Armstrong.
Until 1980 Cambridge firefighters donned the famous three-quarter boots and jacket, instead of the now generally accepted bunker gear. An example of the boots and jacket can be seen in the photo below.
