She graduated year 2009 from the Ateneo de Manila University with a BFA Information Design degree.Currently dubbed as the "Cosplay Queen/Goddess" of the Philippines, she has been recognized as the one responsible in putting Cosplay on a higher level. Mainstream media has started to notice & considered it as an art form.

Peronal Life

Alodia Gosiengfiao lives in Quezon City and is fond of art, fashion, video games, cosplaying, and synthesizers. Her origin is from Catarman, Northern Samar[2][3]

Career

Cosplay

She started cosplaying year 2003 at the age of 15 by joining various competitions in the Philippines specifically in Metro Manila. When she was 15, she wowed the crowds at the 2003 C3 Convention portraying as Magic Gunner Rikku from Final Fantasy along with her younger sister Ashley who cosplayed as Gunmage Yuna. The sisters' 3rd place & Crowd Favorite winnings led them to be featured on the cover of Issue 14 of Culture Crash, a manga magazine distributed locally and abroad.

Alodia first modelled in her high school years when she was chosen as a member of the Avon Teen Advisory Council in the Philippines. Alodia was Animax's first ever Levi's Kawaii Girl winner in the last episode of Mad Mad Fun. Since then she has continued to cosplay various anime & videogame characters. As a multi-awarded cosplayer, she is now being invited to grace conventions with her appearances or to judge competitions. She started judging at the age of 18.

Mainstream Media and Press

Due to her rising popularity, currently she is endorsing Kojie-san www.kojiesan.com, a whitening skin care product; a trendy Japanese sushi bar called Robot, a huge video game company based in Japan, "Tinier Me" by CyberAgent; a clothing line, Fresh Gear Jeans; Japanese Snack, Pocky. She is currently also one of the ambassadors/ TV VJ host for Animax Asia www.animax-asia.com, a TV Channel based in Singapore and airs all over Asia - Philippines, Malaysia, Korea, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, etc.

Past endorsements include many video game companies such as Level-Up Games, E-Games, Kelphil's Shade, SEGA's Love and Berry, and many more. As the official model/endorser of IPVG-EGames Zx Online game, Alodia, an avid gamer, was given the opportunity to hold her first Fans Day during the Domination 3 Event held on April 2009. Her stint with the company paved the way for her to be on the cover of the EGames 2009 Calendar. A Toy/Figurine distributor based in the Philippines, Maxicollector www.maxicollector.com, has followed suit in hiring Alodia as a Model/Endorser for the said store. She also has been featured in several magazines such as Candy Mag, Meg Magazine and making it into the cover of two isues of GAME! Magazine; and newspapers like Phil. Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin & Manila Times. She was also invited to appear as guest on TV shows like MogTV, QTV 11 & Front Act. Other than local media, Alodia has also been featured many times in newspapers and magazine in different countries such as Japan, Singapore and the US.

The Philippines edition of FHM ranked her number 87 in its 2009 poll for 100 Sexiest Women in the World. And this year 2010, her rank went up to number 73. She has been named by UNO Magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in the Philippines.

International Scene

Due to her constant contribution to the cosplay community, she has landed a big role in the San Diego Comic Con Documentary directed by the famous Morgan Spurlock (director of "Supersize Me!") and produced by Legendary Films (300, The Dark Knight, Inception, Watchmen). The huge documentary team followed 5 different people from around the world to document what they did at the San Diego Comic Convention in the US - line up includes an artist, comic book enthusiast, cosplayer, etc. Part of the team was Stan Lee, the father of Marvel Comics.

This led to a meeting with Legendary Pictures CEO/Founder, Thomas Tull, and VP Alex Garcia, regarding their new upcoming movie called Warcraft. After this meeting was featured in a very popular US-based website Kotaku.com Blizzard, maker of Warcraft, got in touch with Alodia regarding business and an endorsement deal for their new game, Star Craft 2.

Alodia and Ashley has also been invited by the Mascot Parade supported by the Singapore Government to perform and judge the cosplay competition. This lead to numerous projects offered by different event organizers from different countries - such as Chile, Australia, Itlay, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, etc - to bring in Alodia and her sister Ashley to judge and perform during cosplay conventions in the organizers' respective countries.
