Mikhmoret (Hebrew: מִכְמֹרֶת, מכמורת, lit. Fishing net) is a village in central of Israel. Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea around 30 kilometers north of Tel Aviv and 32 Kilometers south to Haifa.

Mikhmoret was founded in 1945 by a group of eastern European immigrants , and was named Mikhmoret due to the profession of many of the founders being fishermen.

Today Mikhmoret is home to 1000 inhabitants, many of whom are students at the College of Marine Studies, some communities of hippies that choose the village as base for alternative life style and some of the wealthiest people of the country who wishes to live next to the sea yet to be in the country center.

Important sites and attractions

• College of Marine Studies- Contains 300 students who live around the village, the students bring vibrant night life to the village and host reggae parties as well as few local bars and a discotheque.
• The Resort Hostel- A backpacker hostel which entirely designed as a shape of a beach, visited yearly by travelers from 40 different countries around the world.
• Hasharon State park-The largest state in the central part of Israel, the home of many wild life: Foxes, jackals, many different kind of birds.
• The turtles bridge- Home of the famous soft shell turtle, Alexander stream is gushing from the Shomron mountains passing by Mikhmoret before it merges in to the sea.
• Mikhmoret beach- Once of the most beautiful beaches in Israel, Mikhmoret's beach with it white sand, consists a small bay which protect the swimmers from the waves.
• The old Marina-The old marina which was built in the 40th of the last century by fishermen and used as a small fishing wharf, today it's part of the Marina school and used for boating lessens.
