Tri.be (Korean: 트라이비; stylized as Tri.Be: short for "Triangle Be"), is a South Korean girl group formed in 2021 by TR Entertainment. The group currently consists of seven members: Songsun, Kelly, Jinha, Hyunbin, Jia, Soeun and Mire. Tri.be debuted in February 2021, with their single Tri.be Da Loca.
History
Pre-debut
Songsun and Hyunbin were former Banana Culture trainees and were part of Banana Culture Newkid; Songsun was a trainee for eight years, while Hyunbin trained for three years.[2] Kelly was a former contestant on Youth With You 2 under Lionheart Entertainment. However, she was eliminated in the first round.[3]
2021–present: Debut with Tri.be Da Loca
It was revealed that producer Shinsadong Tiger and Universal Music would be debuting a new girl group in early 2021 on December 29, 2020.[4] On January 4, 2021, Tri.be's official SNS released an official logo motion video, revealing the group's logo and their name to be Tri.be. It was confirmed later that day the group would debut in February 2021.[5] Prior to their debut, they were featured in their first online reality show, Let's Try! Be, on YouTube through Studio Lululala.[6]
They debuted with their first single album Tri.be Da Loca on February 17, 2021 with the lead single "Doom Doom Ta".[7] Both songs in the album were produced by Shinsadong Tiger and LE of EXID.[1] The group was later announced to be signed under Universal Music's Republic Records for United States promotions.[1]
