**{{re|MJL}}Thank you for explaining. So if I added the information with reliable sources. Can I add them here? I know with Sophia they mentioned some of the princesses and princes but not all. They are leaving out some. Princess Maya does appears over 10 times in four seasons. Now for the other two I am asking on the article’s talk page if we should add all the characters. Is there a link about what to add or not to add? I mean if there is 200+ characters or something. These are fictional characters in the story named Maya and I would like to have Wikipedia to reflect truth and knowledge in such areas no matter how minor the detail is but within the parameters of Wikipedia guidelines. I am trying to improve these Wikipedia articles and being proactive.

I was researching the name Maya and came across this excerpt on Wikipedia: "Maya, in Hebrew, also means ("מלחמת יום הכיפורים") - "The war of Kippur" (in Judaism)." This linkage doesn't seem clear. I was unable to corroborate the connection by following the two attributions at the bottom of the page. The first source (Behind The Name [1]) contained no reference to "The war of Kippur." In the second source, The Baby Name Bible, the relevant excerpt was unavailable via Google Search view of the text, i.e. the "M" names page was not displayed.

I did find the following meanings/origins of the name Maya (or Mayah): Mayah close to God hebrew http://www.innocentenglish.com/popular-boy-girl-baby-names/baby-girls-name-database-meaning/baby-girls-names18.html

Mayah Hebrew F Close to God http://www.babynameguide.com/categoryhebrew.asp?strGender=&strAlpha=M&strCat=Hebrew&strOrder=Name

MAYA (3) Gender: Feminine Usage: Hebrew Other Scripts: מַיָּה (Hebrew) Derived from Hebrew מַיִם (mayim) "water". http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?nmd=n&terms=Maya&submit=Go

Maya is also a modern Hebrew name, probably also a variant of Greek Maia, but maybe related to Maayan (spring) and to the Aramaic word for “water”. http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Maya.html

The Hindi name Maya means - God's creative power The Greek name Maya means - mother; grandmother. The Latin name Maya means - great. A form of Maia http://www.babynamescountry.com/meanings/Maya.html

Arguably the name in western culture is mainly derived from the Greek mythology name and the use of the Greek goddess portrait in the info box would be appropriate for an English language article. I removed the info box because it interferes with the layout of all the pictures. I would prefer to restore it with the Greek goddess portrait in the info box. --Bookworm857158367 (talk) 01:51, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indoeuropean pantheon (Greek and Hindu)

The common ancestral origin is the same, certainly she was a Indo-European goddess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.222.74.128 (talk) 10:56, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fiction characters name Maya.

I added 4 fiction characters name Maya. Three were removed. They are not non-notable. Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia and should reflect fact no matter how minor. A fictional character name Maya is still a relevant fictional character named Maya. FedualJapan (talk) 08:21, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They are non-notable. See Wikipedia:Notability. JesseRafe (talk) 20:07, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t see where that supports you. If anything that article supports me. I see those there are worthy of notice by verifiable canon facts from verifiable sources and you are limiting the article by discriminating subject-specific notability. Those are 3 fictional characters named Maya that fits the criteria of the article. Those three are from popular animated shows. FedualJapan (talk) 01:14, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Mary-Long/. (Voice Actor for Maya in eps 103).

https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/tv-shows/Sailor-Moon-Super-S/. If you look will see the Maya from eps 142 as Mayako with a Japanese voice actor. Cloverway made it Maya where viz and Japanese sub is Mayako.

Below is pictures of all three Maya’s. The other two are screenshots of viz episode summaries containing Maya for eps 103 and Mayako for 142. I did have pictures from Sophia season one eps 8 saying Princess Maya is voiced by Mary long but the snapshot of a black screen. However, the link above on Princess Maya or this link on Olivia Grace, has a green check mark with Maya. Should suffice enough. https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Olivia-Grace/

@FedualJapan: The reason these characters should not be added is because they are not mentioned in the relevant articles that they link to. While other minor characters are included in this list, they link to more information about them. The specific policy that applies here is WP:INDISCRIMINATE. –MJLTalk 14:50, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
