Manor Solomon (Hebrew: מנור סולומון; born (1999-07-24)24 July 1999) is an Israeli professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or as a winger for FC Shakhtar Donetsk and the Israel national team.

Early life

Solomon was born in Kfar Saba, Israel, to a Jewish family.[1] His parents Ayala and Yossi Solomon are Phys Ed. teachers.[2]

Solomon served as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces.[3][4]

Club career

FC Shakhtar Donetsk

On 1 October 2019, Solomon scored his first UEFA Champions League goal, when he scored in the last minutes of an away match against Atalanta that ended in a 2–1 win for his team.[5] Making him the youngest Israeli footballer to ever score in the Champions League, at the age of 20.

On 26 November 2019, Solomon scored the last goal in a Champions League away match against Manchester City, helping Shakhtar to finish it with a 1–1 draw.[6]

On 21 October 2020, Solomon scored for Shakhtar the third 2020–21 UEFA Champions League away match goal against Real Madrid, in a 3–2 win for his team.[7]

On 1 December 2020, Solomon scored the last goal in a Champions League home match against Real Madrid, helping Shakhtar to earn a 2–0 win.[8]

International career

On 18 November 2020, Solomon scored a first half goal in a UEFA Nations League match against Scotland, earning a 1–0 win for his native Israel.[9]

On 4 September 2021, he scored the first goal against Austria at a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match, that ended in a 5–2 home win for Israel.[10]
