The station was owned by the Christoper Center Corporation. It aired Catholic programming from the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network through an affiliation with Toledo-based Annunciation Radio, which fed its programming. WLBJ-LP was branded as Christ The Shepherd Radio.

The station's license was cancelled by the FCC on October 2, 2020, for failing to file a license renewal application.

In March of 2022, Holy Family Radio (an EWTN affliliate based at WJTA Glandorf/Leipsic) announced it has filed an application for a construction permit for 90.9 FM as a WJTA simulcast.

Callsign history

The WLBJ callsign was first used at the former WLBJ 1410 AM in Bowling Green, Kentucky (now defunct) and later at 1570 AM in New Albany, Indiana which is now WLRS.

The callsign is not related to nor to be confused with WLBC-FM in Muncie which broadcasts on the same frequency in east central Indiana.
