Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Ram Navami riots, have removed content without a good reason to do so. Content on Wikipedia should not be removed just because you disagree with it or because you think it's wrong, unless the claim is not verifiable. Instead, you should consider expanding the article with noteworthy and verifiable information of your own, citing reliable sources when you do so. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! An article you recently created, List of martyrs of India's Freedom Struggle, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article is reliable since it is wriiten on the basis of https://www.indiaculture.nic.in/release-dictionary-martyrs-indias-freedom-struggle1857-1947-shri-narendra-modi-prime-minister-07
Basically the Indian governemnt released whole list of martyrs of freedom struggle. Now the list is so huge that it is virtually impossible for me to write all of this on my own so i would like to ask for your suggestion on how can I collaborate with other wikipedia editors to write about this article. I could not find any particular group of wikipedia editors on social media where i could ask for help. Regards TheGlobalEditor (talk) 16:09, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia policy is to avoid sections that focus on criticisms or controversies. Your edit to the article on NDTV recreated a section called "Controversies". This is against policy and has been deleted. Sections or article titles should generally not include the word "controversies". Topical or thematic sections are frequently superior to sections devoted to criticism. Other than for articles about particular worldviews, philosophies or religious topics etc. where different considerations apply, best practice is to incorporate positive and negative material into the same section. -- Toddy1 (talk) 17:35, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Policy also states that if significant views include negative criticism of the article subject published in reliable sources, then they should be incorporated into the article content in an appropriate and neutral way. Even though the heading was titled as "controversies", the content was about different show cause notices sent to the company by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for not adhering to the laid down rules and law which is as important for a neutral reader but at the same time I understand your concern and find it foolish of me to title it such.
I have undid and restored the content and changed the heading from "controversies" to "Legal Issues". I am positive that would take care your concern. Thanking You. Regards.TheGlobalEditor (talk) 18:21, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
