Eoghan is not a partial anglicisation of Eógan. Eoghan is the modern Irish form, using the modern standard for spelling. This includes both the modern séimhiú (h) and the removal of the redundant síneadh fada (accent) on 'o'. The name as pronounced couldn't map to any English spelling convention.
