My brother served 5-6 years on the Damato. He saw much of the world while stationed on it. Mediterranean, around South America, thru the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Japan, and a year off shore of Vietnam. I learned the meaning of the term, “Battle Stations” because the Damato participated in the Vietnam War. The Damato suffered 2 strikes to its deck with their high-tech sophisticated for its time “radar system”??? There were 2 very large holes in the deck! I saw pictures! Anyway, I’d like to be able to see/read something about the Vietnam service, now that I’m in my 70s and my brother is gone. Service in Vietnam War.
