First battle of Laghman was a battle between the Ghaznavids and Hindu Shahis followed by a successful battle led by Sabuktigin and Mahmud of Ghazni.

Jayapala launched an attack on Ghazna. Despite the fact that Jayapala amassed about 100,000 troops for the battle, Sabuktigin was soundly victorious.[2] The battle was fought in Laghman near kabul. After the battle Jayapala agreed to pay tribute.
