Fantasy Boys (Korean: 판타지 보이즈; RR: Pantaji Boijeu, stylized in all caps) is a South Korean boy group formed through the homonymous MBC reality survival show. The group is managed by PocketDol Studio and consists of twelve members: Yu Jun-won, Kim Gyu-rae, Hong Sung-min, Oh Hyeon-tae, Lee Han-bin, Ling Qi, Kang Min-seo, Hikari, K-soul, Kim Woo-seok, Hikaru and Kaedan.[1] The group is expected to debut sometime in 2023.
Career
2023–present: Formation through Fantasy Boys and debut
The group was formed through the homonymous MBC reality show that aired from March 30, 2023 to June 8, 2023.[2][3] The show featured 55 male contestants from different countries.[4] The members of the group were chosen during the final episode through the viewers votes and points.[3]
Prior to partecipating in Fantasy Boys several members were already active in the entertainment industry: Yu Jun-won was a contestant on Hybe Label's Japan's survival show &Audition – The Howling, but was eliminated in the final episode.[5] Ling Qi was a member of the chinese boy group X-Time and in 2018 he partecipated in the reality show Idol Producer.[6] He was eliminated in episode 8 and finished 58th overall. K-soul was a contestant on the reality shows Super Idol and We Are Young.
