Problems with this page

The way the page is presented, the three different varieties of Mayor are conflated and makes it seem like they are all effectively the same office. Specifically:

Prior to the 1923 charter, the Mayor was an elected, full executive Mayor who ran the city government and was chair of the Board of Aldermen;
From 1923-2011, the City Council Chairman (position renamed to Mayor) was just that, chosen by the Council annually, and the city government was run by the City Manager;
From 2011 onward, the position of Mayor became popularly elected for a 4-year term, but with largely the same roles and responsibilities as they had when chosen by the Council, and the city government is still run by the City Manager.

Also, the modern City Council and Mayor are elected on a non-partisan basis, at least so far as what's listed on the ballot, so I'm unsure as to the propriety of having the party column. MarkHB (talk) 17:46, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
