Front Row Insurance Brokers Inc. is a privately owned insurance broker primarily serving the entertainment industry with Canadian offices in Vancouver, BC; Toronto, ON; Montreal, QC and Halifax, NS and US offices in Los Angeles, CA; Nashville, TN; and New York, NY.[1]
Front Row has insured film productions in Canada and the US, including 50/50 (2011 film) starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Enemy (2013 film) starring Jake Gyllenhaal, The Experiment (2010 film) starring Forest Whitaker, Kodachrome (film) starring Ed Harris, The Whistleblower starring Rachel Weisz, and Barney's Version (film) starring Paul Giamatti.[2]
In 2013, the company initiated an online musical instrument insurance program for members of various Canadian music associations, including the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada[3], the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, the Canadian Country Music Association and the Canadian League of Composers.
In 2018, the company initiated an online short-term event liability insurance program.[4][5][6][7]
Front Row has partnerships with various film industry associations to provide production insurance to their members, including the Documentary Organization of Canada[8] and the US (WIFT-US) chapters of Women in Film and Television International.[9][10][11] In 2023, the company partnered with the International Documentary Association (IDA) to provide errors & omissions professional liability insurance coverage to IDA members.[12]
Front Row Insurance is the insurance broker for Rust (upcoming film). In October 2021, production was temporarily suspended after a controversial and highly publicized firearms shooting incident, in which cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed.[13][14][15][16]
