ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:12, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Brycecordry

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Greyzxq, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Kindersley-Biggar, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Greyzxq}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Brycecordry. Thank you for your work on Weyburn-Bengough. User:AngusWOOF, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

I don't see mention of this as an official name for the district

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|AngusWOOF}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

@AngusWOOF: Thank you for your question. Saskatchewan has recently completed the redistribution process for all provincial electoral districts. The current district of Weyburn-Big Muddy is being significantly reconfigured as part of this process and will be renamed Weyburn-Bengough. I will be starting the editing process next week to add such pertinent information you have not been able to find. When the next election is called (which is when the new boundaries take effect), I will go back and migrate the articles content for all the districts being renamed...but I figured it would be good to at least create the redirects for the new names now in case folks start searching for them. To alleviate your immediate concern, I have linked the Saskatchewan Boundary Commission's maps which you can use to verify. https://www.saskboundaries.ca/maps/ Let me know if any further questions. Have a nice day. Brycecordry (talk) 20:27, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Will you be making its own article then, since it's a major redistricting? Or is it fairly minor that it can attach to Weyburn-Big Muddy? AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 20:33, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This change is minor enough to be considered a rename as opposed to being completely eliminated. I will be updating the Weyburn-Big Muddy article about the upcoming changes, probably next week.
  • The old boundaries remain in effect until the next general election is called. Saskatchewan's fixed election dates prescribe the next provincial election to be on or before October 28, 2024 (unless a snap federal election is called around that same time, in which case the provincial election will be deferred until April 7, 2025)
  • Until that time, Weyburn-Bengough will redirect to Weyburn-Big Muddy for anyone who happens to search for the new name. There they will be able to read the article and understand that the name and boundaries will be changing for the next election.
  • Once the writs of election are issued (about six weeks before election day), the new constituency boundaries come into effect. Sometime between then and election day, I will migrate all the content on Weyburn-Big Muddy to Weyburn-Bengough and update the content accordingly. After that time, Weyburn-Big Muddy will redirect to Weyburn-Bengough as that will then be the correct name for the riding.
  • I will do this same process for all the other ridings that are being renamed as well as similar for those new electoral districts being created for the next election.
Hope this helps! Let me know if any other questions. Brycecordry (talk) 22:21, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, yeah, please add your information to the talk page of Weyburn-Big Muddy so others are prepped for that. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 23:49, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Saskatoon Stonebridge

Hello, Brycecordry, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username North8000, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Saskatoon Stonebridge, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saskatoon Stonebridge.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|North8000}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
