Yes... you... must...

Wow, just checked your deletion log; way to go! You'll have them done in no time at that rate - though I have a feeling the angry hoardes will be after you eventually with "why did u delete my image!??!?!111@1" ... — Editor at Large(speak) 11:20, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rule 34, cont

Meh, that's tame. There's Fosters and Avatar: The Last Airbender hentai out there - and even that's tame, but *cowers in fetal position*.

Oh, and on image backlogs, have fun. I deleted about 200 ORFUs about a year ago, tiring, and I got complaints (on IRC). Will 13:07, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. Most of the A:TLA hentai I've seen is Zutara (so we better not let Oreos know, the rabid Avatar fangirl she is). By the way, I saw your music additions. Kudos on the Soul Meets Body, that's becoming my favourite song by Death Cab (and it's my favourite from Plans). Will 13:13, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's one of the old lot... I've scoured every Death Cab song, but Soul Meets Body will never be beat, I reckon :) – Riana 13:16, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I used to really love I Will Follow You into the Dark (having a girlfriend who loved that song), but it's dropping in the "zomg i liek" scale. Will 13:30, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, do you have any Red Leicester? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:38, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, now I know they don't have their own Wikipedia article, but otherwise no :) – Riana 18:40, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, never mind. How are you on Tilsit? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:41, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cheese jokes. How dare you mock me so ^^ – Riana 18:43, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll skip straight to the point, instead of using up hundreds of edits. Have you any cheese at all? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:45, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have a look sir... nnnnoooo... – Riana 18:47, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
*takes out a gun and shoots you*. What a senseless waste of human life... psst... scroll down...Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:49, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But you didn't even ask about the Limberger... – Riana 18:52, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, would it be worth it? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:53, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Could be. – Riana 18:53, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Have you... SHUT THAT BLOODY BAZOUKI UP! Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that went screwy. Very screwy. So I'm stopping it. – Riana 18:57, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just as well. I'm off out in a few minutes. And you should be sleeping instead of deleting images - I know from experience, it's bad pulling all-nighters :) Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 18:59, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeahhh, probably... I'm just so sick of these damn backlogs which noonedoesathingaboutandthenturngoodpeopledownatRfAfor... *sigh* ah well, once I've finished this cat I'll go. It's an easy one to get through anyway :) Have a good night :) – Riana 19:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bobobo spam... again!

63.3.0.2 (talk · contribs) is at it again with that spam. I've given him a last warning, and I'm going to try to do that blacklist at Mediawiki when I can. I'd ask to protect the page, but I know the answer: Not enough activity. And I have another theory: it could be Jelly Jiggler (talk · contribs) and Don Patch5000 (talk · contribs)'s IP adress. One and the same. Could you help with this? Thanks so much, Riana. Tohru Honda13 23:50, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up, Tohru. I guess the best way to stop them would be to get the site blacklisted. And the IP is, in all likelihood, the same user as the ones you've mentioned, who sent me a few rather rude e-mails a month or so ago about getting blocked. Anyway, if the site is blacklisted, hopefully protection will not be necessary. You can propose getting a site blacklisted at Talk:Spam blacklist. Cheers mate! – Riana 04:17, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Riana, I've proposed it to the spam blacklist. Um, do you know if I'm supposed to confirm myself on my talk page so they know it's really me? I provided a link to my talk page as my signature over there. Sorry, it's my first time doing that. Cheers Riana! Btw, that's a real nice name you have (I read the discussion below). Tohru Honda13 22:36, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Most Wikipedians will have to go over to Meta at least once in their lifetimes, so you may as well create an account :) But yeah, you can drop a confirmation on your talk page if you wish. And thank you for the compliment :) – Riana 02:06, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

If you dont mind, can I know if Riana is your real name or pen name? --soum (0_o) 01:07, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind :) It's my real name, yeah. – Riana 04:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A CPU!

Thanks for all the help you have given me in the past few weeks. This never before seen message was made up by me while up very late, so that should explain a couple of things. Have fun! -Mschel 03:26, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed this from "A picture of roz" to "A CPU" per fair use problems. -Mschel 19:41, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now see, that's neat :p – Riana 19:42, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

userpage, e-mail

Hi Riana, two things. One, you're welcome to use my userpage as a model to make your own, if you wish. Two, I've sent you an e-mail about something only an admin can do. It's off-wiki for reasons of keeping things discreet. I hope you're well. --Kyoko 17:55, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ta love, replying. – Riana 17:57, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I did as you said. We'll see what happens next. --Kyoko 18:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew Van De Kamp

I notice you have changed the tags on the images of andrew van de kamp. Does this mean that the IfD is a keep? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:55, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good on you! I meant Image:Andrewvandekampseason3.jpg and Image:Andrewvandekamp.PNG. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:58, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, no it isn't. The other image is though, and hase been waitinga while for closure. Here's the IfD. If your actions were unrelated, would you mind closing it now? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:04, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. We're going to keep misisng teh other's messages if we don;t stop now. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:05, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yoga

Many thanks for restoring blanked material in that article. I have been trying to edit that article, and others, to GA class. Yoga, in particular, seems to be a taget for regular vandal attacks. Best wishes, Phillip Rosenthal 03:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I only decided to watchlist it 2 nights ago and was surprised by how much it's hit :) Cheers, – Riana 04:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel guilty

Hangs head in shame. I wasn't there for you! :) Seriously, is there anything we can do to silence this obnoxious nuisance, or are we compelled to just RBI? Cheers, Moreschi Request a recording? 10:11, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even better, we can take away their fun with slightly sarcastic, but helpful messages. For example, Mr. Chicken-sucking cigarette. (which reminds me, I've got some chicken in the fridge that needs to be eaten, and it's lunchtime, but now I'm rambling) Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 11:13, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, fun sarcasm never works, usually goes right over their heads (as proven by 68, who hasn't given up in the past 6 weeks). – Riana 11:22, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but I love sarcasm anyway :D Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 11:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The great thing about TWINKLE is that it removes any frustration in playing whack-the-vandal: hence I haven't insulted a vandal for months. Or even tried to get fun-sarcastic - though maybe some part of me misses those idyllic days of telling userpage vandals to FUCK OFF via edit summary. Any mail for me, Riana? Moreschi Request a recording? 11:29, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah fuck, I'll finish my e-mail now... sorry mate :) – Riana 11:30, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, Riana, I've rescaled and replaced Image:Wii.svg for you :), so now it's an ORFU Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 11:47, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sweet mate, wasn't sure how to handle that one, as you can tell. Do you want to put the FU rationale and stuff on the png? And it needs to be in Category:Wii media, too... I can do it if you want to. – Riana 11:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The server automatically renders SVGs into PNGs. I did the same with Image:Last.fm logo (crimson).svgImage:Last.fm logo (crimson).png too :) Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 11:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

WOW! That's awesome, thank you SO much for fixing that, Riana. I really appreciate it! Cheers mate, Sarah 12:34, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright of images

Hi Riana, I have a general question about the copyright situation. My archival shots of the Papin sisters were speedily deleted because they weren't mine, and that's ok. I have no complaints. However, I can't help wondering what the system is when I look at some of the shots that accompany various articles. If you look at the articles for Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Jason leigh and Amy Acker, you will see plenty of shots that have come from films and are obviously the property of the companies that made the films. Obviously the people who wrote these articles don't have copyright on the shots, so what is the situation? Should these shots be deleted? Sardaka 12:44, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sardaka, I think you may have misunderstood my message and the reason your images were deleted. The reason those images had to go was because you released them under a restricted license, eg 'for non-commercial use only' or 'for Wikipedia-specific use only', something like that. Although this is still listed as an option when uploading images, we're not allowed to have restricted images anymore, because we can't guarantee that the use of such images will stay restricted to Wikipedia (lots of people use this place, so there's no surety). The images from the articles you quoted are, as you have correctly stated, the property of the subject of the article, or the photographer, or the actor's agent, etc. However, Wikipedia uses them under the fair use agreement, which allows limited use of low resolution images to illustrate something in the absence of a free alternative.
For your images, you will need to verify the copyright status, and whether you can release them under the GDFL license, a Creative Commons license, into the public domain, or under a fair use agreement.
Some useful links about images, not written in technospeak ( :) ) can be found here and here. Hope that helps a little, and if not, please feel free to ask again. Thanks, – Riana 12:51, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Parma, Ohio

Link: Parma, Ohio

I know this a bit late... but as to your question if semi-protecting was sufficient, I would probably have said no. The registered user is just as edit-warry as the IP; I'm actually considering bringing this to AN and asking for a community ban on the article, as this has gone on for almost a year. But, in any case, no feeling bad for the IP, who has purposefully not gotten an account in order to avoid scrutiny. Patstuarttalk·edits 22:13, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I realised that when I read the history more closely. Since there seems to have been no attempt at resolution between the editors it may be worth it to take it to AN. Cheers for keeping me posted, Pat. – Riana 00:31, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

RIANA YOU DELETED THE BOOK COVER FOR PAM PINNOCK WHY? YOU STATED IT DID NOT GIVE LICENSE INFORMATION AND IT CLEARLY DID. NOW I CANT GET IT TO POST BACK TO THE SITE. IT NEEDS TO BE THERE TO MAKE THE ARTICLE LOOK BETTER. THE BOOK COVER IS AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.COM FOR ANYONE TO COPY IT AT A PUBLIC DOMAIN PLUS IT WAS LOADED AND SHOWED THAT THE EDITOR WAS GRANTED PERMISSION TO USE IT FOR WIKIPEDIA. CAN YOU HELP ME FIX THIS PROBLEM????? OTHERWISE THE ARTICLE IS USELESS. THANKS — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.15.39.100 (talkcontribs)

Do you know which image it was? Also, just because something is on Amazon doesn't mean it's in the public domain - I suggest you find out what that actually means. Your image is more likely to be a fair use book cover. Clearly state the source and the license, and give a fair use rationale, and your image will be fine. Next time you leave me a message, please do not use capital letters, I find it rather rude. Thanks, – Riana 00:35, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look thru your page history

Riana—

I was bored, so I redesigned your page and reverted it, so if you look at the first revision prior to the current one, you will see (it's not that different). Naturally I designed it after mine. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  01:01, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! I like how it's all compact. I'll keep it :) But I'll change the font, how's that sound? How've you been? – Riana 01:03, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah I did forget to keep the font on.
I'm fine, tired as usual. It's becoming my norm. :) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  01:05, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Get some sleep, Wikipedia will get along :) – Riana 01:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
