Reshammiya started his career as a musician in the film industry, working with various music directors such as Shankar Jaikishan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, R.D. He played these instruments for over 3000 songs in various films, creating a distinctive sound and style. He was praised by the singer Lata Mangeshkar and the music director duo Shankar Jaikishan, who gave him the titles of “Music Wizard” and “Sangeet Wizard” respectively.

Reshammiya also ventured into film production, making films such as Shaktishaali and Insaaf Ki Jung, which featured many popular actors and actresses. He was also involved in television software programming, producing serials such as Andaz, Amar Prem, Aahaa, Dam Dama Dam, Jaan, Ashiqui, Aangan, Rishta Kachche Dhaagon Kaa, and Anupamaa. He introduced many big-screen stars to the small screen, such as Rajendra Kumar, Poonam Dhillon, Shabana Azmi, Prem Chopra, Kumar Gaurav, Farha, Anita Raj, and Rajesh Khanna.
