Tavil (Persian: طويل, also Romanized as Ţavīl; also known as Ţaveh, Tivil’ and Tawal)[1] is a village in Bakrabad Rural District, in the Central District of Varzaqan County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 112, in 18 families.[2]
Tavil was the village closest to the site where the 2024 Varzaqan helicopter crash occurred, in which President Ebrahim Raisi died along with several other Iranian government officials.[3]
