Paulo Sérgio da Costa (born in May 12, 1979 in Moita, Portugal) is a football attacking midfielder, who currently plays for Aris Limassol F.C.. Last year he was playing for Aris Thessaloniki. Has played on various European teams, such as FC Alverca, A.C. Venezia 1907, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, F.C. Porto.

His football career started in one little club called SC Lourinhanense where he moved to Sporting Lisbon from - his first bigger club (1999), but after that year his career never flowed neither good nor consistently. Moreover, he never lasted longer than one season in one club (exception is Bordeaux), so as a result he changed club many times: from Sporting, then Alverca, Reggina, Porto, Venezia, Bordeaux, Gil Vicente (on loan from Bordeaux) and then Aris.

Aris started bizarrely the second division season, but improved their game and results under Nikos Anastopoulos, in January looked much better, but they needed a few players in the winter transfer period to strengthen their side in order to be in good position and secure the first 3 spots to come back to the top flight of Greek football.

Paulo Costa, Kouloucheris from Greek champions Olympiakos, Sebastian Flores from Uruguay, Nikos Skarmoutsos from Atromitos and Petros Philippakos, were the players who came in order to help Aris in fulfilling the mission of coming back. Paulo Costa adapted quickly at Aris, becoming a starter and one of the key figures in Aris midfield. The portuguese Costa was one of the best Aris players in 2006-07, together with Koke, and were considered one of the best partnerships/duos in Greece. Both cooperated well together, especially with through passes and assists from him towards the Spaniard in the championship this year.

He also had a trial at Milan giants Inter a few years ago, but he never succeded. However, he managed to stay in Italy when he signed for Reggina Calcio.
