Mickey's performance in the 2005 final cannot and should not be dismissed. It is a slightly complex issue. If his kicking has been as accurate as his marking had been strong, he would have been a shoe-in for the Norm Smith medal. The fact that it wasn't kept the West Coast Eagles in the game, and by end of the afternoon he certainly seemed to suffer a crisis of confidence in his kicking that led him to try to give off shots at goal he would normally have taken. As currently written the article just makes it sound as if he had a shocker, which just isn't true. In a game as tight as that was, you could argue he produced a match winning performance. I will return when I have more time to think about the right words to sum the matter up. I believe the word "inaccurate" is likely to appear.{{WPBiography |
