Peristeria (Greek : Περιστέρια) is a small village at the south of Salamis Island . It took his name from bird of peace pingeon (Greek : περιστέρι) , because it was so calm , peaceful and isolated place , far off from the cars and from noise . Another interpretation says that maybe derived his name , from the doves which were living and had nests in the area . Peristeria is based at the southeast of island .
The area is lovely , good - looking and fair . The area ' s houses are looking to the Saronic Gulf. The area has marina , which has yachts and piscatorials . The beaches of Peristeria are the most cleanest of Salamis . The area is far away 45 km from Salamis City . In the center of village there is a church . The village is near to the Cave of Euripides .
