|
|
|
|
SingTones are cellular phone [[ringtones]] created by the recording of a voice or voices along with an [[instrumental]] version of a song. The creator or others may then access the ringtone from the SingTones website. |
|
|
|
|
|
==Creation== |
|
|
On the SingTones website, the service user first chooses a background song to sing along with for recording, then pays for the cost of the text message online. The user's [[cell phone]] is then sent a [[text message]] to confirm payment and a number to call to begin recording. Upon calling the number the chosen song is played, and the user is then asked to sing along with the [[instrumental]] version of the song for the actual recording. The user may then listen to the SingTone to confirm. The SingTone may then be sent to the user's [[cell phone]] or additionally to another. The user is then sent a unique SingTones number that can be entered on the SingTones website to listen or send the SingTone. |

Timothy Harada is a Buddhist activist, novelist, writer, song writer and musician. Timothy Harada is the founder of Second American Renaissance Press, an independent book publisher, which has as its goal the publication of writings of students and graduates of Soka University of America, a new liberal arts university in Orange County, California, based on peace, humanism, environmental protection and other Buddhist inspired ideals.
Timothy Harada's novel, Myth Shattering is a semi-autobiographical/cultural criticism/political protest novel about his early punk rock days in Huntington Beach, California, where he experienced the transformative effects of Buddhist practice on his life and his surroundings. First published by Surge Books in February of 2007, Myth Shattering has now been re-released by Second American Renaissance Press. Two of his other books (the first 2 in a series of books from his "Collected Writings From Soka University of America") have also recently been released by Second American Renaissance Press.
Timothy Harada is a regular contributor to the Sendai Voice Online Magazine in Sendai, Japan, where he is currently residing.
Many of the songs from Timothy Harada's CDs have been played on radio stations in Japan and the US. Timothy was recently featured throughout Japan in a performance with Richie Gill on NHK Television, during their performance at the 17th Annual Jozenji Street Jazz Festival in Sendai Japan. Timothy is also the founder of Strawberry Girl Music Productions, which self released his two most recent CDs, "Acts of Sedition: Classified CIA File (which pokes fun at his actual CIA and FBI records for his extensive peace activism in Southern California and for his writings against fascism in the US)" and "Love: The Only Proven Way to Fight Terrorism."
Timothy Harada was the organizer of the largest peace march in Orange County's history (as of November 2003), which brought students, teachers, parents and community members of Aliso Viejo to march from Soka University's Peace Fountain to the Chet Holifield Federal Building. The peace march was organized to show the student's opposition to Bush's planned attack on Iraq.
Timothy's original music was first featured in 1998 on KSBR (from Saddle Back College) Radio's "Local Artist Spotlight" show.

This landmark human rights case, CHRISTINE GOODWIN v. THE UNITED KINGDOM has effected change to the lives of over 5000 people in the UK. More than this, CHRISTINE GOODWIN v. THE UNITED KINGDOM, caused the UK government to change UK law to recognise the Gender of Transsexual people in all areas of life. The US lags behind the EU in this respect, and many persons who have had a sexchange in the USA are still legally genderless. Since this change in UK law many Transpeople have married a member of the opposite sex to which sex to which they have aquired, now they have happier fullfilled lives with the protection of law. The Sea are a two piece Guitar and Drums Combo consisting of brothers Peter (guitar and vocals) and Alex (drums and Vocals) Chisholm, based in London, England. Noted for their energetic live performances and short, raw, blues infused songs.
www.myspace.com/theseasounds
www.theseasounds.co.uk
History
The Sea formed in Jan 2007 after the collapse of 4 piece rock band 'VOID' of which both brothers were members.
the idea of The Sea was to return to return to their roots, Peter Chisholm quoted it was just like being kids again, just the two of us in a room, with a load of ideas and it felt so right
Soon the year of obscurity in VOID would be forgotten, in April 2007 The Sea were voted top unsigned band in the UK by Radio Station XFM and went on to play 'XFM's Big Night Out' at Brixton Academy to 5000 people supporting acts: The Enemy, New Young Pony Club and Rumble Stripes after Brixton they were invited to perform at 'Second Fest' an online vertual music festival on the website Second Life along such acts as Good Shoes and Groove Armada.
In May/June 2007 the brothers signed to independent record label Lusty Records and recorded their debut album with producer Pete Briquette who is the bass guitarist for Bob Geldof at Metropolis Studios in London.
The Summer months saw The Sea touring throughout the UK, and also a small stop in Germany to play the Zytanian Festival During this time and into Oct/Nov The Sea recieved rave reviews from many national press publications.
Their Debut Single Love Love Love was released on limited edition 7inch vinyl on 22nd Oct 2007 to much critical aclaim,
the band chose 7inch because: as Alex chisholm quoted 'thats the format where this song belongs'
Press
Love Love Love, an entirely ridiculous and completely fantastic stew of riffing and vocal histrionics!"
The Guardian 20th Oct - Single of the week
She walks like a reptile, sing The Sea. Not the most flattering traditional love ballard you'd expect then. More a lusty lo-fi, head-fucking fairytale romp with White Stripes-Black Keys to make a debut that's Ace. Ace. Ace
The Fly Single Review Oct 07
Remember a few years ago when there was this spurious/non-existent musical movement known as the new rock revolution? Well, The Sea would have easily fit into that crop of bands save for one small detail - they're actually very good. There's only two of them onstage, but drums and guitar do the work of a handful of less talented more hyped rock'n'roll 'stars'. Their songs sound classic yet refeshing, and they're a great band to watch.
The Fly Live review Oct 07
'Convincingly hollered good cheer' - Channel 4
They look the part with their scruffy blonde hair and leather jackets, there's a generous dollop of individualism and gritty charm here
What’s more The Sea have created there very own love in, lovely stuff
Rock sound Nov - Live review
Crikey, this is what you need on a maudlin Monday - The Sea delivering a short sharp shock. Yowl along with new single Love Love Love. As a wise man once said, 'cranketh up thy volume'.
The Guardian Newspaper, Song of The Day - 10/09/07
The Sea, Love Love Love - Somewhere between The White Stripes and QOTSA, The Sea's new single is rock stripped to its most basic ingredients, and played with absolute gusto.

Singer, songwriter, actor and performing artist Namgyal Lhamo's roots originate from Shigatse in Tibet. Winner of the Best Female Singer award at the 2007 Tibetan music awards,Namgyal Lhamo took to singing at the age of ten and was chosen to be trained at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts ( www.tibetanarts.org) in Dharamsala,India established by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, to preserve the cultural identity of Tibetans by keeping alive their artistic traditions and by sharing them with the world.
She studied with the most important Tibetan music teachers of post war Tibet. In this way she stepped into the tradition of the various kinds of classical and folk music of her country. Impressive also are her “Lu” interpretations - nomad cantilenes from Amdo and Kham. Beside that Namgyal Lhamo plays various traditional instruments, such as the Dranyen (Tibetan lute) and the Gyumang (Tibetan celesta).

A. Powell Davies (June 5, 1902-September 26, 1957) was the minister of All Souls' Unitarian Church in Washington, D.C. from 1943 to his death in 1957.
Life and Works
Born in Birkenhead, England (near Liverpool) to Welsh parents, Davies was raised a Methodist. After working briefly as a clerk for a shipping company, he moved to London as secretary to a strike leader who had been elected Labour MP. In London, he met George Bernard Shaw, who urged him to go into politics; instead, he chose to attend Richmond Theological College, a Methodist seminary affiliated with the University of London, and to join the Methodist ministry. While studying, he met Muriel Hannah, the daughter of his family's Methodist minister, and they were married in 1927.
Davies served as minister at the Becontree Methodist Central Hall in Illford, a London suburb, 1925-28, before moving to America. He headed three churches in Maine: in Goodwin's Mills and Clark's Mills, (commuting to Boston University for classes), and, from 1929, the Pine Street Methodist Church in Portland. In Portland, he worked as a used car salesman for a week in order to investigate the question of whether or not it was possible to be a businessman and adhere to "Christian" honesty and integrity; he then wrote a strong critique of prevailing business practices.
Also in Portland, Davies was exposed to Unitarian ideas by Vincent Silliman, minister at the First Parish Unitarian Church there. In 1933 Davies became a Unitarian, joining the American Unitarian Association (AUA), and became minister of the Community Church of Summit, New Jersey which had allied itself with the Community Church movement. He reaffiliated the church to the Unitarian denomination, at the same time calling for an opening up of the denomination.
While preferring non-violence, he moved his position from appeasement of Germany in 1938 to interventionist in 1939. He thenceforth advocated Unitarian activism in world questions, and became a leader in the reform movement, Unitarian Advance. His first book was American Destiny (1942), in which he advanced the idea that American "faith in [individual] freedom is the only faith which can unite the world." Citing the Boston minister, William Ellery Channing [1] (1780-1842), who had called Unitarianism the "universal church," Davies became increasingly active in denominational affairs. He joined the Metro New York Council of Churches, where he met and befriended the Unitarian activist minister John Haynes Holmes [2] (1879-1964), and became acquainted with Margaret Sanger (1879-1966), the founder of Planned Parenthood.
In 1943 Davies was appointed minister of All Souls Church in Washington, D.C., a church which he led to national prominence through his activist and principled ethical stands. He advocated the Atomic Energy Act of 1946 and, while staunchly against Communism, decried the methods and hearings of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). He championed integration in Washington and elsewhere. He actively spearheaded the creation of Unitarian churches in the area, organizing in 1950 what is now known as the Greater Washington Association of Unitarian Universalist Churches (GWA) and serving as its Chair, 1950-57.
Davies received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Meadville Theological School in 1947 and an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Howard University in 1955.
Further Reading
Davies' published works include: The Man from Nazareth (1937); The Faith of an Unrepentant Liberal (1946); America's Real Religion (1949); Man's Vast Future (1951); Religion in the Bible (1952); The Urge to Persecute (1953); The Language of the Heart (1956); The Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls (1956); The Ten Commandments (1956); and The First Christian (1957). See also The Mind and Faith of A. Powell Davies, edited by William O. Douglas (1959); Without Apology: Collected Meditations on Liberal Religion (1998), edited by Forrest Church; and Five Favorites: A Collection of Popular Timely Sermons (1999).
Biographical works include: George N. Marshall, A. Powell Davies and His Times (1990); the A. Powell Davies Memorial Committee Pamphlet, "A. Powell Davies: 1902-1957" (1958); the introduction to Douglas's Mind and Faith; Laurence Staples, Washington Unitarianism (1970); William Schulz, "The Minister and McCarthyism: A. Powell Davies and Post-War Hysteria," Alone Together (1979), edited by Peter Kauffman and Spencer Lavan; R. Stutzman, "A. Powell Davies: Some Remembrances" (1991), Greater Washington Area Minister's Study Group Paper; and George N. Marshall, "A. Powell Davies: Theological Radical," Religious Humanism (1992). There is an obituary in the Washington Post (September 29, 1957): "Dignitaries Pay Tribute to the Late Dr. Davies."

Additionally HITMAN Radio can soon be heard on Sirius Satellite Radio's in the US & Canada.
Nationally renowned, Producer, Innovator, Hustler, Entrepreneur, Frontrunner. BAHAMIAN ENTERTAINMENT ON A HIGHER LEVEL!!
In just three years as a professional radio producer/DJ, Bahamas’s own Kemis has set himself apart from the rest of the field. His drive to succeed, coupled with his creative marketing & sales ideas, have helped him emerge from a cluttered field of DJs as one of the most exciting figures in the music game. These days DJs are a dime a dozen. To stand out regionally is a task in itself. Kemis has blown past the goal of being a regional figure and has positioned himself as a pre-eminent DJ known throughout the world, through his radio presence, mix-tapes & in the club.
Starting in 2006 with an unbranded local artist show longside King Cnote & Big L through MORE 94 FM, Kemis has taken that notoriety & ballooned it into his own personality branded 1 rated syndicated mix show called "HITMAN Radio" on Kemis.Net & Kemis.FM (coming Soon). Most recently KEMIS.FM was proposed and will soon be broadcasting live every week from Nassau, Bahamas, Kemis hits the national airwaves "shock-jock" style with the newest exclusives, custom remixes and special guests celebrities.
Kemis has traveled the US & Caribbean hosting in states & cities such as Florida, New York, California, Nassau, Freeport, etc. There are few DJ's that can produce the excitement that Kemis does in the club, which is what makes him such a hot commodity for promoters who will fly him half way around the world for him to perform. When he is at work you can feel the energy and passion he has for the music. As he aggressively switches from record to record the crowd feeds off his intensity. Kemis's record selection, energy and attitude truly define him as an artist. Hearing and watching him host is a performance in itself!
His shrill catchphrase “BAHAMIAN ENTERTAINMEN ON A HIGHER LEVEL” garners instant reaction when it rings over the internet & airwaves during his top-rated broadcasts, in the clubs and on his mixtapes. Artists from MDeez, Sosaman, Streetz, & local promoters vibe with Kemis, either hosting his radio shows or making special guest appearances on his nationally prominent mix-tapes.
While succeeding in the music field, Kemis’s diversity immensely adds to his allure. Aside from his prowess as a Producer/DJ, Marketing, Business & Real Estate are Kemis's other strong points. So whether its over the airwaves or internet stations, via satellite, or in the streets with his mix-tapes, Kemis has surpassed 99% of the DJ field…and he wont be content until he is at the top of the pile.

The A686 road crosses the Pennines north of Cross Fell, the highest mountain in England outside the Lake District over Hartside Pass, which at 1903 ft is the highest metalled pass in England. The highest cafe in England stands at the top, from where on a good day the Lakeland fells, the Irish Sea and Scotland can all be seen.

SingTones are cellular phone ringtones created by the recording of a voice or voices along with an instrumental version of a song. The creator or others may then access the ringtone from the SingTones website.
Creation
On the SingTones website, the service user first chooses a background song to sing along with for recording, then pays for the cost of the text message online. The user's cell phone is then sent a text message to confirm payment and a number to call to begin recording. Upon calling the number the chosen song is played, and the user is then asked to sing along with the instrumental version of the song for the actual recording. The user may then listen to the SingTone to confirm. The SingTone may then be sent to the user's cell phone or additionally to another. The user is then sent a unique SingTones number that can be entered on the SingTones website to listen or send the SingTone.
