Film career

Erin Brown, a cult phenomena and longtime favorite B-movie victim turned vixen once known as Misty Mundae is one of the most recognized scream queen phenoms in the industry today, but not everyone recognizes her new moniker. She has starred in over fifty low-budget films ranging from shock horror to soft-core erotica.

The once Misty Mundae recently abandoned her beloved B-movie screen name and its naughty reputation for the name "Erin Brown" and decided to pass on the adult-rated scripts for roles that are more respectable than the ones portrayed with the many EI Independent Films imprints. After so many films, it is understandable that Erin should be granted the right to be selective. The former Misty Mundae was born Erin Dewright on October 16, 1979. Though she entered the world in Illinois, Erin Brown was raised in New Jersey. In 1997, at the age of 18, she starred in her first film, I Was a Teenage Strangler for low-budget underground production company, Factory 2000.

What followed was a long line of B-movie horror flicks, snuff films, and parody-style soft-core that made "Misty Mundae" one of low-budget cinema's most prolific institutions. In 2005, Erin Brown left EI Cinema, the company, which gave her memorable roles like those in Lord of the G-Strings and Spiderbabe after she decided it was time to retire from a soft-core career. EI retained her former "Misty Mundae" screen name.

Though she confesses her popularity is due to her natural "girl next door" assets (she has never had plastic surgery and prefers to wear little makeup,) Erin Brown owes much of her popularity to her ability to enjoy her work and act like a typical girl. A lot can be said for her notoriety as well.

Due to the fact that "Misty Mundae" has starred in so many films, virtually anyone who has flipped through very late night cable television during a bout of insomnia has seen at least part of a "Misty Mundae" movie. Fans would never call her a chameleon, however, because Misty has always been a standout. Attractive and youthful in appearance, Erin Brown is reportedly a vegetarian, plays guitar and pool, has attended film school and directed, is a transcendentalist. And as many fans have come to appreciate, Brown does like chicks.

Whether or not that is exclusively is unclear.

In March 2006, a somewhat retro "Misty Mundae" graced the convention stage of Chicago's Fangoria "Weekend of Horrors" as a publicity treat for Shock-o-Rama Cinema, inciting the pent-up ardor of die-hard "Misty Mundae" fans, many of which likely took the time out of their schedule for a few hours to view at the natural beauty in person.

Fans reportedly got a glimpse of Erin at her recent screening for The Lost. Though it would be incorrect to call Erin Brown "Misty Mundae" any longer, fans still remember this wide-eyed beauty as their same beloved Misty, even though she is no longer taking off her clothes (for less than artistic reasons) and kissing girls .

In August 2006, Brown was cast in a major role in The Rage, directed by Robert Kurtzman, which is expected to to be released in 2008.[1] In September 2006, Erin took the starring role in the Polonia Brothers film Splatter Beach, released to DVD in October 2007. In March 2007 she was cast in the movie Dying God directed by Fabrice Lambot, which is also expected to be released in 2008.

Personal life

Brown is a self-professed hippie; she plays guitar, writes her own music, and is a vegetarian. She has identified as bisexual.[2]
