Birth Name[edit]

I have seen a lot of evidence that suggests that her birth name was "Durken" rather than "DeWright" (in fact, the Wikipedia citation that her name was "DeWright" doesn't even contain "DeWright" at all). Many sites list her birth name as "Durkin" rather than "DeWright" (all sites calling her "DeWright" seem to link to either Wikipedia or IMDB), she is credited as "Erin Durkin" on Jordan Bennett's home movie of her and Lukas Persson refers to her as "Durkin" on his Twitter Gallery of on set photographs of her from her most recent film (which he directed). How would I go about adding that to this page properly? -- El Payaso Malo 108.92.114.116 (talk) 09:03, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Film scholar David Andrews says the name DeWright is "erroneous".[1] I've removed it from the article and added {{R from incorrect name}} to the redirect. Obviously we can't add a different birth name without a reliable source. --Sangdeboeuf (talk) 00:53, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

This is only a minor point, and I'm not sure it merits a subtitle. Where Robert Kurtzman is mentioned, as a director, two films are mentioned in parenthesis next to his name: Wishmaster and From Dusk till Dawn. It seems that the article is implying that he directed both, but he only directed Wishmaster. He did work in From Dusk till Dawn, he wrote, produced and did special effects, so I'm not saying the reference should be erased, just clarified. I would have edited the article myself, but I couldn't think of an elegant way to do it. I don't mean to be a nitpicker, but I was myself mislead, more so by the fact that the director, Robert Rodriguez, shares his first name. Apwith 10:58, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brown's Music[edit]

The director's commentary for th film Sick Girl says that Erin Brown has a blues band with her boyfriend (I can't remember the name) that contributed music to the soundtrack, but that they weren't able to put that (and other bands) in the credits for a reason I can't remember. I have't been able to find any information about this except for the director's commentary, and I think it should be mentioned in this article. Can anyone help? -- El Payaso Malo 16:59 March 26, 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.249.188.216 (talk) 21:59, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Erin Brown and her boyfriend are members of the folk/blues group "The Singing Crows". They have just signed up with a new label Elektra records and will be releasing their 3rd album in September. They play in local bars and clubs all over New York City. Hope this helps.

Imlovingyoubabe (talk) 20:30, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the name that was mentioned in Sick Girl. I just checked out the commentary for it and McKee says that Erin and her boyfriend's band "the Homeward Band" contributed music to Sick Girl, but the band wasn't in the credits due to a time issue. Google only turns up Erin Brown's Wikipedia talk page (i.e. your comment) for "the Singing Crows," whether with "Erin Brown" or "Elektra Records." --El Payaso Malo 108.92.114.116 (talk) 08:52, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Weasel Words and Merge[edit]

This article needs to be merged with Misty Mundae as the two articles refer to the same person, and the content is nearly identical. Also this article contains weasel words, especially in the text talking about her change in movie genre. Autopilots 05:23, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Misty Mundae article has been merged to this one. As far as weasel words go the talk about her change in movie genre comes from a variety of interviews she did, the fact that she has only done horror and not softcore since 2003, as well as commentary by the directors and producers of her films which can only be found on the DVDs. Should there be a source placed for for every little detail? Please help me out here because absolutely everything in the article is verifiable. 05:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)65.185.24.40

Thank you for the merger, your contribution is much appreciated, and I've left a welcome message on your anonymous user page. As far as my claim on Weasel words, perhaps this is incorrect, but I feel that it does either violate that or no original research. I myself am a fan of this actress's films, so I feel I can not edit this article myself, but I do feel that overall, the article fails either NOR, WW, and/or NPOV, each of which is a semi-murky overlap. Most important to me, at least, was the article merge, which, again, I thank you for doing.Autopilots 09:23, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Erroneous death notice[edit]

It had been reported erroneously that actress Erin Brown had died by committing suicide on October 1, 2006. That was a misunderstanding due to a press release that stated "Misty Mundae" had died. The release should have simply stated that Erin Brown had retired from using the name of "Misty Mundae." Instead, it had appeared as though the actress herself had died. ei Independent Cinema owns the name "Misty Mundae," and apparently still intends to produce more films featuring that name. Whether that includes Erin Brown at any later date remains to be seen. As it is, Erin Brown is still alive and well and working as an actress. 04:10, 3 October 2006 Philkaos

Categorization as "bisexual actress"[edit]

Given some uncertainty about the precise definition of this category, I must raise a question as to whether Erin Brown/Misty Mundae truly qualifies. I am fairly sure that the available verifiable information can prove that she has performed sex acts with both sexes on film, but that she has to date admitted to at least one heterosexual relationship and no lesbian/homosexual activity off-film. So -- can we categorize her as bisexual solely on the basis of her on-screen activities, or do we need a quote about an off-screen lesbian encounter to confirm her "bisexual" status?

The answer to this question will affect work on articles about some of her co-stars, most of whom have performed only lesbian sex acts on-camera and whose private sex lives are not verifiable by wikipedia standards -- and the unverifiable knowledge I have of one of them would only serve to force me to exclude her from being classified as strictly lesbian in her personal life, in case somebody decides to add her to such a list.

Here's a reference, it's an interview in which she claims to be bi: [1]

== Removing the shaved head/retirement reference until someone produces a verifiable citation. This appears to be a rumor started due to a flamewar between fans of Tiffany Shepis and those of the subject. Erin Brown currently has a film in post production and just appeared at a horror convention 10 days ago. This doesn't sound like she's retired.

There's nothing on google about her retirement. The only image hit is for a different Erin Brown. Horrorshowj 04:34, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarship to Edinburgh[edit]

Can anybody verify that this is true? Ballaz30 (talk) 22:40, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Age?[edit]

Is there any proof that Erin is indeed 35? I haven't been able to find any. Imdb gives 16 October 1979 as her birth date, and so does a number of other sources. The paragraph about her being five years older than she's commonly known to be seems to be deliberate vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.151.218.207 (talk) 20:17, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She can not have been born in October 1974 because she has a sister who was born in January 1974. Unless a time machine plot hole is offered, I'll revert in a few days. Hcobb (talk) 23:45, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's nine months apart. It's uncommon, but by no means impossible, for a woman to get pregnant and have another baby within nine months of the previous one. Misty Mundae WASN'T born in 1974, but your argument doesn't hold up either way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.196.30.177 (talk) 11:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hardcore film[edit]

I have added a line and a couple of the links I found reviewing the 1999 film or its 2008 re-release, available on Amazon.com if anyone is interested. I decided to keep the line within the Softcore section and not create a new section since she only ever made this one film and it was with her partner, suggesting there was never any intention on her part to go the hardcore route in any meaningful way, i.e., the usual definition of a hardcore actor is one who performs alongside multiple actors over the course of a career and with whom there is no intimate relationship. C.S.I.[edit]

Imdb claims that she was in two episodes of C.S.I. in 2011. Is it true? Cause I watched them both and didn't see her there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.25.106.39 (talk) 01:30, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

IMDB says a lot of things, because anyone can write what they want in it. Not reliable. ZarhanFastfire (talk) 01:20, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pornographic actress[edit]

Why isn't this in the lead? Most other actresses have this in the lead of the article. ex "x" is an American former pornographic actress. It Identifies right away this is the person that the reader is or is not looking for rather than someone else who used one of the names listed.
