Musicians who use FL Studio

We shouldn't have everyone and their grandmother placing links to their myspace pages, especially when the editors are the artists themselves. Violates the editorial neutrality policy.

From now on, try to only link artists who have DOCUMENTED experience with FL Studio through their .com, 3rd party interview, or from the official FL studio power users site. --Djdimitrious (talk) 16:36, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added a redirect page for ASIO4ALL to point to Audio_Stream_Input/Output. Ishmael Rufus (talk) 17:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move

Shouldn't perhaps the title of this article be FL Studio and have 'fruityloops' redirect there? - User:Cammoore

agree
I've posted to Requested moves asking for just that. —tregoweth 16:39, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC)

History

Shouldnt the history of FL be up here, ive been using fruity loops since it was called fruity tracks!! It would be a good idea. -58.104.246.107 00:49, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take care of writing a section for this. --Djdimitrious (talk) 16:36, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

January 23

Fruityloops is the former name of a software package; FL Studio is the current name. —tregoweth 19:42, Jan 23, 2005 (UTC)

  • Support. Might as well keep the article up to date. Niteowlneils 18:24, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Screenshot

I could take a screen shot of FL studio but i'm not sure if screenshots are copyrighted or not. Can I post it under fair use?

Who cares? Just do it.

Name

Are you sure the name "FruityLoops" was a take-off"on Froot Loops? I've never heard that before. Are you sure ImageLine changed the name to FL Studio due trademark infringement? And not just to promote a more professional image? Scottf9 21:05, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There was certainly fear of a trademark infringement lawsuit. There was discussion of the topic on the FL Studio forums some time ago. My understanding is that there was an actual threat of a lawsuit, but that may have been a misunderstanding.--152.23.68.167 04:39, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, in fact, there is evidence of the potential trademark infringement on the official website. [1]. Amit 23:03, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The link to syntheway.net is totally inappropriate. Synheway makes VSTS, not things specifically made for FL studio. If it were appropriate to link to a VST website, I suggest: kvraudio.com which covers all music software without a bias.

FL Studio Usage

Didn't want to start adding anything here without asking for concensus.

I have some experience using FL Studio, am a registered user, and I've been toying with the idea of creating an FL Studio Wiki for its usage. A how-to guide so-to-speak. Due to my job I have the ability to create animated walkthroughs so I was thinking of putting up as many walkthroughs on how to do things with FL Studio as possible. Is this an acceptable place to put these walkthroughs, or should I keep them on my own site?

FreakBoy 01:18, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Freak, your user page link is broken, please drop me a line at User:ZyXoas. I'm an advanced FLStudio user and would be willing to talk with you about it - if you want.

-ZyXoas 10:58, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

FL studio is expensive. :( :( :(
If you read this, Wikiversity or Wikibooks would be perfect places for your walkthroughs. The Jade Knight 02:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Homosexual? What the?

What the hell is with that? I'm considering taking it down. Considering....

-NegativeCreep (Sorry, can't be stuffed logging in.)

yeah, my first thought was WTF!? i deleted the whole paragraph...

The original name "Fruity Loops" was abandoned in favor of "FL Studio" in order to promote a more professional image, to remove the possibility of a trademark infringement lawsuit from Kellogg's who produce Froot Loops breakfast cereal, and in part to reduce the possibility of conveying a homosexual image to users in countries with cultural homophobia, where "fruity" can also mean "homosexual".

-This was taken off part of their official website, its official information, like it or not. 213.78.252.146 16:52, 18 February 2007 (UTC) Isn't fruity loops is gay? I thought it was..[reply]

it is speculative, and absolutely irrelevant to the article.. if anyone wants to keep it, please at least provide source for those claims...

Reply: The sources I know of are the Image-line owners' and employees' posts on the message board for FL Studio registered users only. I'm not sure why the history of the name is "absolutely irrelevant".greyleonard 20:58, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kind of makes the article seem a bit bad if thats the first damn thing you see, if you want it in the article move it into a seperate section, and please link to the thread? --NegativeCreep 01:59, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is mention of this in the FL Studio FAQ. (whoops, forgot to log in) 68.149.174.120 21:15, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't seem to see any mention of it at that link. The Jade Knight 02:49, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Hacked by Spy" ????????/

Looking for info on FL, just tried to access this page and all I got was "hacked by Spy".

Has someone deleted the page and, if so, is there any way we can get it back?

You can access old versions on the history tab. Here, you can also reset the article to an older state, which I just did.

Dear whoever said the above... I fixed the page to the revision before the "hacking of spy".

Dear Spy, That wasn't very nice to deleted all the information about FL Studio, I use it quite alot, its a great program. Please don't mess the Wiki up again! :(

I'm Mitsura Tsuki by the way... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitsura Tsuki (talkcontribs)

It's really funny that some poor child thinks that editing Wikipedia counts as "hacking". The Jade Knight 02:50, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lmao, it sure is. Orangekubrick

.flp extention

Hello, Mitsura again. Just wondering if you could edit it to notify uses about the extention ".flp" also being used by the program Adobe (Macromedia) Flash. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitsura Tsuki (talkcontribs)

Edit: There you go :) And thanks for restoring the page --Hatrick — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hatrickpatrick (talkcontribs)

Anything for the FL Studio lover! --Mitsura — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitsura Tsuki (talkcontribs)

I removed one link in accordance to the recently revised WP:EL. greyleonard 20:34, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trance/Techno?

FL Studio was mainly made for the genres trance and techno. Shouldn't this be noted? 213.78.252.146 23:09, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if this is a aproper space to mention it but I think i'm having the forementioned problem with the file association. I have FLASH and I used to be able to use my old but good FL 4 and now I can't. Ya'll noted the problem, but how do you keep these valuable programs while maintaining function? I would insert a link but I lack experience It's at the bottom of the article.

Generators

Shouldn't there be a different page for each different generator? And not only in FL Studio but other VSTi hosts, virtual studios and sequencers? --Orthologist 23:54, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More FL Studio editions

Since I read the whole article, the tab of "FL Studio" editions is also missing FL Studio XXL. Technically speaking, "Producer Edition" has most of the generators, but the "XXL Edition" has all but two or three generators that FL Studio can offer. I feel that it would be more appropriate to have a more complete list of FL Studio editions. --Specter01010 04:34, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

correction

Hi, gol here. Just to mention that I did not create, nor own Image-Line. See here for more info: http://www.image-line.com/documents/team.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.242.204.122 (talk) 07:17, 20 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Not NPOV at all

Here's some examples:

The Effects Panel provides access to a wide range of software effects.... because of its easy-to-use step sequencer and powerful piano roll editor, good monetary value, wide support of industry standards, extensive automation capabilities, and high-quality effects.... Sampler - a simple but flexible sampler that has the same envelopes, LFOs, and MIDI delay as the 3x OSC described above.... PoiZone - an easy to program synthesizer capable of producing a wide variety of trancy sounds.... etc. etc. This needs to be changed very soon by someone more knowledgeable of the program. I am going to be systematically cleaning up the article. Specifically, I am looking for NPOV errors and to develop a more professional tone for the article. I completed part 1 of my cleanup on August 22, 2007 (see history). Amit 14:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
