WRSP-TV (channel 55) and WCCU (channel 27) are affiliates of the Fox network in central Illinois. WRSP originates from Springfield, Illinois; WCCU originates from Urbana, Illinois. Both stations are owned by GOCOM Media of Illinois along with The CW affiliate WBUI.

History

On June 1, 1979, the station signed on as religious television station WBHW. In 1982, it changed call letters to WRSP-TV, a general entertainment independent station. On April 25, 1987, satellite station WCCU signed on. Both WRSP-TV and WCCU became charter affiliates of the fledgling Fox network. Both stations began transmitting digital signals in mid-2000, including Fox Network high definition.

WRSP-TV introduced a new website, based on the "MyFox" O&O look which has been licensed from Fox Television Stations Group's interactive division.
