Template:FAOL Lupo Manaro 09:00, 11 October 2006 (UTC) The English version of Alonso de Ojeda is the only one, among the Spanish, French and German versions, that states Ojeda to be of noble Bulgarian origin. It is strange: in those days Spain was notoriously xenophobic and intolerant in matters of religion and the Orthodox Okhrid would not have much chance in making a career. Is there a source for this statement or is it a practical joke ripe for deletion?
About the origin
I have also heard such a thing about Alonso de Ojeda's origin. As long as I remember, the big russian history Encyclopedia says he was actually born in Okhrid. I've heard that scribers of that time wrote he was shouting in a strange language when he got angry. I will try to find these sources and publish them Tangra680 13:50, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
