Though the school has had some success in academic competitions at both the state and national levels (see [[United States Academic Decathlon]]), such success is clearly not the school's priority.

Belen High School is a high school (grades 9 - 12) in Belen, Valencia County, New Mexico. It was opened as the first public high school in Valencia County.

Sports

Belen High school's sports teams are both successful on and off the field. The Eagles field teams in football, volleyball, soccer, and cross country in the fall. In the winter basketball, bowling, and wrestling are offered. Spring sports include baseball/softball, golf, and track and field.

The Belen Eagle wrestling team won five straight Class 4A team championships, 2003-2007.

BHS has won many awards and championships in a variety of sports and other activities.
