The one footnote on the page, refering to the date of the race (third Sunday in May) says it was retrieved September 9, 2007. I'm writing this on June 20, 2007. How, pray tell, was this accomplished? [[User:140.147.160.78|140.147.160.78]] 17:47, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza

== The links--really necessary? ==

Is it appropriate to have a link to just some individual's website of photos? It's not a particularly large or comprehensive collection--just a couple of dozen photos of the 2008 race. I'm not sure what use it is, except to give the site's owner a link. Bay to Breakers is both a serious foot race and a fun festive event. The selection of photos in this article does not represent these important attributes of the event. This article needs some photos on the serious side (e.g. the winners crossing the finish line) and the fun side (like the costume competition, centipedes & floats and the Footstock concert in the Polo field etc.) Kowloonese 20:37, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bay to Breakers vs. Boston Marathon

How is this the "longest consecutively running footrace"? The Boston Marathon has been run every year since 1897. Is this some obscure and unexplained distinction between a marathon and a "footrace"? 18.26.0.18 03:24, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • Boston Marathon changed over timeIn 1924, the B.A.A. moved the starting line from Ashland to Hopkinton. In 1927, the Boston Marathon course was lengthened to the full distance of 26 miles, 385 yards to conform to Olympic standards.jk 15:17, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)
See: http://www.bostonmarathon.org/BostonMarathon/History.asp
  • The answer may lie in how one interprets the phrase "consecutively running", not "footrace". In order to eliminate any ambiguity and confusion, I've modified the verbiage to read "the longest consecutively running 12K footrace in the world." —RaD Man (talk) 23:46, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Date of Race?

It is noted that this is an annual footrace based on tradition. Ommitted in this article is any mention of a "traditional" date, if there is one, or any date whatsoever. T.E. Goodwin 01:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is always on the third Sunday in May each year. Kowloonese 18:52, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
