Why did you submit my page for deletion
I'm not mad or anything i just would like to know what problems you found with my page on Horror Rock, also sorry i had to put this on this page but my email is temporarily out of service so i couldn't email you and ask, From, Nicky Stake —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicky Stake (talk • contribs) 21:23, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I nominated it because it was unsourced and essentially a piece of original research. I think that if you read the relevant Wikipedia policies you'll understand why. You just need sources for the material in the article and stick to what is in those sources, which includes the bands you've labeled as being part of Horror rock. Savanna hypothesis
Hi,
I noticed (and moved) your comment on Talk:Savanna theory. If you're informed re: the AAH, it's a terrible page, and needs a thorough re-work with reliable sources rather than original research criticisms.
You might want to have a glance at WP:TALK, the talk page guidelines. Posting at the top of a page is a common mistake noobs make - discussions are chronological from top to bottom, so post new messages below the lowest comment. Or use the + tab to create a new discussion at the bottom.
Thanks,
WLU (talk) 18:29, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Believe it or not, you're not the first to make a mistake on wikipedia. Not to worry. WLU (talk) 01:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Citing sources
Here's some useful tools for finding and citing sources:
- Citation templates - always appreciated if you use these, along with footnotes.
- Reference generator - I don't use it, but it's there.
- pubmed/isbn template generator, absolutely fantastic (and very quick) if you've got a pubmed number or ISBN (use amazon).
- Google scholar autocitation, a google-style search engine, very handy, but I don't like the output format as much as diberry.
- tools - more citation tools.
Ask me any questions you might have, I'll try to help. WLU (talk) 17:46, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Race of Ancient Egyptians Template Removal
I added that template to generate discussion and you removed it without discussing it on the talk page. Though I don't care about that article anymore, in the future please add to discussion before making such changes. Thanks and peace-out.--Woland37 (talk) 12:07, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- It seemed that there was no consensus to include the template. Frankly, the template itself is pretty worthless because it doesn't give any clear idea of what needs to be done to fix the article. The template says, "An editor has expressed concern that this article or section may be unencyclopedic and should be deleted. This is primarily a statement about the article's subject, not necessarily its quality or veracity." Do you really think that the subject of Race of ancient Egyptians is inherently "unencyclopedic"? As I noted in my edit summary, it has been discussed in numerous reliable sources, both popular and scholarly. *** Crotalus *** 12:10, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
The template was simply to generate discussion as there were several users who expressed the same concerns that I did. Conflict and discussion is good I think. Anyway, no big whoop. I still don't think that its notable enough but other people do so thats good enough for me. Peace-out!--Woland37 (talk) 12:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, fair enough. In the future, you might want to check out {{notability}} for concerns related to notability. Of course, if you don't think the article should exist, you can always merge or redirect it, but you should try to obtain a consensus for that first. *** Crotalus *** 12:27, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
i agree with you on the uncyclopedic template being added to the race of the ancient egyptians the question was rasied and hence the template should be added but as you can see the afrocentrics came out in full force and jumped down peoples throats to even thinking of having this article deleted such as ramdrake deeceevoice and futurebird there against deleteing it because they are obessed with the race of the ancients egyptians and think they are going to prove something by having this article, i quote the wacko deeceevoice("I GOT SOME INFO THAT WILL PROVE THAT TUT WAS A BLACKMAN)now when people make statements like that they have an agenda lol, this article is just arguementive non sence and is useless and is not encyclopedia.also dont you think its funny that wknight94 all of a sudden unprotected the page the day after somebody suggested the article should be deleted because it had been protected so long, very suspious right--Mikmik2953 (talk) 05:19, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Stuff
Just a moment to say (1) I really, really appreciate your attempts to reason with Cesar Tort, (2) when I read what he wrote that left you speechless, I spent about five minutes ttrying to figure out hat Icould write to be supportive of you but the fact is I was literally left speechless and have no idea still wheree to begin by way of response ... and also from the little I have seen you do not strike me as the kind of person who needs support, but let me just register here my desire to be supportive of you at least in this one case where Tort has I think crossed a personal line, and (3) I really welcome your participation in Wikipedia in general and hope that you will help us improve anthropology articles. Many years ago I put a fair amount of work into a handful of articles and I have to say just felt burned out. there are not enough editors here who care about anthropology and are well-informed and I am glad you are here. Slrubenstein | Talk 19:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I have always tried to get people to distinguish between cultural and moral relativism. But the key thing with your attempts with Cesar is, (1) WP:V, verifiability not truth; any claim about cultural relativism must be verifiable (not true), (2a) WP:NPOV, we represent all points of view and they must be clearly identified i.e make clear what is de Mause's view of cultural relativism versus anthropologists views and (2b) NPOV requires us only to include notable views ... sadly, the non-anthropologist's view of cultural relativism is wide-spread and thus notable ... but it must be clearly identified as non-anthropological, (2c) WP:DUE, we give due weight to views, and distinguish between majority and minority views, (2d) WP:FRINGE, we do not have to include fringe views. I doubt you can educate Cesar about cultural relativism but he has to learn Wikipedia policies. Good luck. Slrubenstein | Talk 18:11, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Woland. Re the copyedit "Its occurrence is well documented" in Ritualized child abuse I agree with your removal. Originally I was tempted to state something like "Unlike the 1980s and '90s SRA claims, its occurrence is well documented". But I thought that would be provocative :) Cesar Tort 00:29, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- I just wanted to mention that the reason why the above article was created is explained here. —Cesar Tort 15:13, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Is this (unrelated to Cesar Tort) another speechless moment at Wikipedia? Slrubenstein | Talk 12:15, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't even know what to say about that...--Woland (talk) 15:23, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, that particular user seems not to have made any other editors - seems like a single-purpose account. Perhaps I should have ignored him from the start ... Slrubenstein | Talk 19:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Just a Friendly Reminder
In order to better battle vandalism, you might want to consider placing messages on user pages. Often a user is warned two or three times by one user, then another user reverts vandalism without placing a message on the talk page. This makes it difficult to block a user when he/she hasn't been properly warned. Thanks!! Dustitalk to me 18:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I almost always do, but thank you anyway. It is important to remind one another to remain vigilant.--Woland (talk) 18:49, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- In case your racking your brain it was here. Its ok, I placed the warning. Remember, the only good vandal, well, you get the rest :). Have a great day and happy editing. Dustitalk to me 18:52, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

TuneTransfers.com, LLC speedy deletion question
I do not feel that this page should be deleted. I am new to Wikipedia and worked on the page two days ago which was deleted since there was no information except for a company box describing the company. This time I have looked through all of Wikipedia's new members literature and I have put nothing wrong onto this page. It is basically describing the small business TuneTransfers.com, LLC and the evolution of the company. I got the idea from seeing other small businesses listed on Wikipedia. Tunetransfers is my wikipedia ID —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tunetransfers (talk • contribs) 18:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks!
Hi there. I would just like to say thanks for reverting some of the vandalism that happened on my page today. Keep up the good work ^^. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 18:59, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

TuneTransfers.com, LLC speedy deletion
I have looked through the literature provided and honestly I still do not understand why it has been deleted. Basically, this is the first business listed on Wikipedia that focuses on media conversion, and there is no media conversion page listed when searching for the term. I feel that simply putting a page up describing the company is enough, but what else must I add to keep it listed? I am not trying to advertise or anything of that sort, I just want to acknowledge the existence of a company that converts one form of media t another. Should I write about the fact that the 2001 Home Recording's Act states that the company TuneTransfers.com, LLC is able to make a profit from converting one form of media to another and then charging the customer who owns the rights to that media to what they will with it? What do I need to do, since after reading the information I feel like I have described what the company does adequately. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tunetransfers (talk • contribs) 20:22, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I will try to look up what you should do. In the mean time I suggest you peruse the village pump and ask around there. Maybe you could have someone there read the article and tell you more specifically what is wrong with it. Also, after you post on a page like this you should sign your comments by typing four tildes (these things: ~)or by hitting the signature button at the top of the edit section, it just helps with communication and whatnot. Don't get too frustrated, its all part of the process.--Woland (talk) 20:31, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
The goodness of GOD
What I added was not personal analysis. It is the widely-held belief of people [that GOD is good and atheists are going to Hell]. If you support these blasphemers then you will feel the wrath of GOD in the afterlife. JemmaBrossel (talk) 19:39, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Song for Merle
Hi, just curious as to why that page was deleted by you. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toaddio (talk • contribs) 20:08, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Please check the little "history" tab at the top of the page before nominating things for deletion, eh? WilyD 17:47, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Repost of Scylla (Prison Break)
A tag has been placed on Scylla (Prison Break), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Scylla (Prison Break) is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Scylla (Prison Break) saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. --Snigbrook (talk) 18:18, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

- It still seems to lack notability to me. Consider adding that information to an already existing, related article. --Woland (talk) 18:42, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
