Unfortunately, the linked journal site is one of those obnoxious things that requires payment/registration before it will even show you a TOC. Anyone have access to the journal; it seems possibly notable as a bibliographic mention, if we can figure out the real cite. [[User:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters|LotLE]]×[[User talk:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters|talk]] 19:32, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

== Pronunciation and Keep ==

Certainly this article should be kept. I would never have known that she is a school teacher in Hawaii. Family Trees are always interesting, especially of Presidents.

And Can someone please add a pronunciation for this person's name?

delete nomination

I nominate this article for deletion. She is not notable. ObamaGirlMachine (talk) 01:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Support deleting. Not notable and there is no reason to think the person this article is about will be notable in the future WP:NOTCRYSTAL. Being mentioned a few times by the media doesn't make you notable. I'm using this same argument for all biography articles being nominated for deletion that are related to Barack Obama, it's clear that Michelle Obama is the only notable person given an article, the others all seem to be fluff. QuirkyAndSuch (talk) 01:45, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note - ObamaGirlmachine (above) is a problematic and potentially disruptive new WP:SPA account that has been canvassing others to come to this and other pages in an attempt to delete articles for Obama family members. If there is a nomination I would suggest speedy closure - Wikidemo (talk) 17:00, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Against deleting. Clearly notable and there is precedent for the siblings of major political figures. (See Roger Clinton, Jr.) Doktor Waterhouse (talk) 06:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Maya's bio into a subsection of "Ann Dunham"?

Please comment. — Justmeherenow ( ) 17:42, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who made this proposal? Where are the arguments in favor of it? See Talk:Lolo Soetoro#Merge proposal which also contains a merger that was not proposed by a supporter of it. Tvoz/talk 03:51, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

E-mail me and I'll divulge my real world identity. — Justmeherenow ( ) 04:37, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your real-world identity was not the question. You don't support the proposal, so why are you making it? Tvoz/talk 04:46, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To see what the consensus of WP contributors is about a possible merge. — Justmeherenow ( ) 05:36, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Against merge.--Utahredrock (talk) 06:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A note (specifically concerning a related matter). I've posted on the Admin noticeboard, "Can a proposal be made by an opponent to gauge the sense of the community?" — Justmeherenow ( ) 17:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Against merge she has shown enough notability and has made independent speeches and announcements. 63.76.234.250 (talk) 19:57, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
