3 strikes made it vandalism in my point of view. Now after a little googling around I see that there may be something to it. It's not a obvious subtitle like most but something that King has hidden in the books.

May I suggest that you mention this with you additions of the subtitles so that it does't get cut out again and referenced of course because someone's going to dispute it again if you don't. i found that this book seems to mention it but I can't put my hands on it at the moment ''The Road to the Dark Tower: Exploring Stephen King's Magnum Opus'' . Also put quotes around the subtitle itself to distinguish it.

Hi

No, you've been doing a good job. If you would like some more idea or guidelines look around WP:NOVELS and particularly Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/ArticleTemplate. You might like to join the project. Somethings are as yet undocumented and I do as a mater of course but forget that it isn't written up, if this is the case let me know. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 16:25, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Novels editing

Thanks for all your efforts completing various aspects of Novel articles, your help is noticed and much appreciated. Just one detail the normal plural abbreviation for "pages" is "pp", some editors tend to put "p." which I notice you have correctly changed but the convention is "pp". Again thanks for getting stuck in an I hope you are enjoying working here. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:58, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ISBN

Hi. I noticed on a couple of novel infoboxes on my watchlist (the Matt Helm novels The Intriguers and The Interlopers (novel) that you added "NA" to the ISBN line with a comment that the ISBN system hadn't started yet. In fact, the system started in either 1967 or 1968, so any novels published after that date would have ISBN numbers. Cheers! 23skidoo 03:53, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Intimidators

I own a copy. Inside it says Copyright 1974 and below that: March 1974. On the cover it says The New Matt Helm Book. On another inside page it lists only the first 15 Helm books, of which this is #15. On the bottom of the spine is the ISBN: 449-0938-125. Hayford Peirce 20:00, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was just about to point this out too but Hayford beat me to it. To my knowledge all the Matt Helms from at least 69 onward had ISBNs; it was pretty consistent. I also have a number of publications from Ace Books from 1968 and 69 (Man from UNCLE novels, mostly) and all have ISBNs, too. I think it was pretty quickly accepted by mass-market publishers. You still find the occasional small publisher that doesn't use one. I wonder how the Wikiproject will handle the fact that many new books published since 2005-2006 have 2 ISBNs - the older 10-digit one and the new 13-digit version? 23skidoo 21:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Welcome back, Skidoo! Hope you had a great vacation! I was just looking at the spines of all my Matt Helms and beginning with about #5 or #6 there is an ISBN. BUT some of those first ones were obviously reprints: #5 or #6, for instance, lists, inside, the first 10 titles or so. Shall I send you an email, say, with as much ISBN info as I have and let you try to sort out the various editions etc.? Hayford Peirce 21:27, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spy novels category

Hi. Good work on adding the ISBNs, etc. Please note, however that the Category:Matt Helm novels is already a sub-category of the main Spy Novels category, so it doesn't need to be added to those articles. 23skidoo 18:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Novels thanks

I can't let all your Novels editing go un thanked. You are putting in stirling work on adding infomation to the infoboxes etc. You are considerably inporving our stock of articles, thanks. I am trying to encourage the user who used a Bot the generate the lists to run a refresh, but he seems to be off on other things. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:05, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing amount of work put in, thanks. If you want to have a go at some of the other lists that would be nice. I have no word from the creator of the auto lists on how to do re-runs, so! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:55, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Satanic Verses

I looked into it, it seems the problem is that someone moved the novel's entry from The Satanic Verses (novel) to The Satanic Verses, but forgot to move the talk page. I asked an admin to take care of it, thanks for pointing it out.--Cúchullain t/c 19:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categories for novella collections?

I just noticed you moved a couple of Saint books (like The Ace of Knaves) into a "YEAR novels" category instead of "YEAR books". Is this to be done with all short story collection books and novella collection books or just the novellas? There's about two dozen other Saint books that'll need recategorizing and I'll jump ahead and do it if that's the case. Same if novellas are indeed now being covered by the short story task force. Cheers. 23skidoo 16:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi skidoo, Actually I caught my mistake right after changing The Ace of Knaves, "YEAR books" is actually going to be changed to "YEAR short stories" from the short story task force. I'm not positive about the novellas but since Project Novels is now covering those also I would assume they get change to "YEAR novels". You might want to check the cats on the task force page it looks like these would fall under a couple of them. Cheers! Jask99 17:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Is "YEAR short stories" a subcat of "YEAR books"? I'm seeing some articles (such as The Brighter Buccaneer) with both. Technically this should be correct as a book collecting short stories is different than the short stories themselves, and in some cases, the year the short stories originate from may differ from the book. If that makes sense. 23skidoo 18:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bear in mind that the "NovelsWikiProject" name is a conventient name for our activities and used on the "Talk pages". The article page "categories" are to accurately describe and categorise the articles as is possible given the existing categories available. Roughly speaking "X books" is an umbrella category for all types of books, if a more specific category exists, (ie. X novels, or X short story collection) they can be used. Does that help. Just to confuse not all novels are books as not all have been printed in that form, but if you don't follow that forget I said it! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry it's taken a few days to get back into this, life got a little busy. Skidoo you make perfect sense and in same token it almost opens a huge can of worms. So I clicked around and "Year Short stories" is actually a sub-cat to "Year Works" the same as "Year Books", while "Year novels" is a sub cat of "Year Books". I can see how this works because many short stories were first printed in magazines/newspapers and then later on in book form. But lets say a book has collected 13 short stories that were first published in 13 different years, do we need to put all of year cats. in or do we just leave it with the year the book was published or do we try and give all 13 stories seperate articles? I think I'm going to leave that part of short stories alone for right now because although I don't mind a good hunt for a piece of infomation I can see a huge mountain of work in the future no matter which way is right and I rather start off right than wrong. does all this make sense? Cheers Jask99 16:08, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Novels jobs

As you might be looking for things to do, perhaps you could regularly keep an eye on {{novel-stub}}, {{book-stub}} and {{lit-stub}} categories as they frequentyl get novels dropped in them that need work and can be easily placed in proper stubs and categories. How does that sound to you. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • This sounds perfect! It'll give me a chance to become more familiar with our project categories.

I have small question for you too. After running around the other project lists it seems that alot could be clean-up with an Image list for books that just need images to complete the infobox. Could you make up a manual list. I'll be more than happy to clean-up the other lists and start populating it/alphabatizing. Plus I know there was alot I could have sent over from InfoboxIncomplete and there has been alot I've run into just putzzing around Wikipedia. Then if our bot guy comes back maybe he could do something also I think I saw that on a talk page somewhere. Cheers Jask99 15:55, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Alien (Animorphs)

Good spot these novels, they look extremely non-notable to me and the entries seems far too much like fancruft for my liking, however I have run around and tagged most of the novel articles. These do need looking at with a view to getting them beyond pure fan and plot entries. Thanks :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 16:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let me know when you find time to have a go at these. I'll lend a hand at the same time and we can hopefully together knock them off quickly. First thing would be to put in the std infobox and see if we can change the basic article tone and put in some critical or notability material we can find. Thanks. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Date seems good to me - remind me when we get closer. Hope the family recover ok. On the Infobox from the infoboxes basically just need replacing. What I do is cut and paste the pattern from the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/InfoboxCode page move the common infomation across to the new infobox and find as much infomation as I can to fill the spaces. Then remove the frivolous infobox / template. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:42, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Dark Tower subtitles

Hello. Before I change back the second of your two edits on the subtitles of DT VI and DT VII, could you explain your reasoning for reverting my edits. I won't say that you're definitely wrong because I don't know your reasons, but right now I disagree.

Thanks, User:Reallybored999 15:00, July 10 2008 (UTC)

When I saw the edits I assumed they were both vandalism and saw no reason not to revert them.

1. The word was in ALL CAPS 2. if you look at the book cover ( i checked) no subtitle. 3. no reference
