== Chromosome images ==

Hello,

I noticed the chromosome ideogram images you have created, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Chromosome_2.svg.
I just wanted to say that although the NIH website displays these ideograms sideways with the short arm (p) on the left and the long arm (q)
to the right, it is almost universally accepted that when chromosome ideograms are displayed in a vertical manner, as you have done, the shorter (p) arm is at the top.
I understand that the orientation of the text labels makes this impractical for these particular images, but this convention for displaying the p arm at the top is so well established that it is used as a standardisation to aid those who need to learn to recognise the banding patterns under the microscope. I cannot offer anything better, but I would suggest that maybe they should be displayed in a sideways orientation which at least avoids the up-side-down situation. The images make a great contribution to the chromosome articles. [[User:Jaypc|Jaypc]] ([[User talk:Jaypc|talk]]) 13:13, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

OiNK Image

Sorry for the late response. The original design was by a user on Oink, but the large one on Wikipedia was made by me. I remade it since the original design was small. So I guess you can do whatever you want with it. Not sure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cubfan789 (talkcontribs) 04:45, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I just wondered if the original creator released it under any free license? Otherwise I can't exactly upload it, except as fair use. ›mysid () 06:54, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the arpeggio!!!!

Hi, I'm Andy and I really..really like the arpeggio and I made a wikipedia account just to talk about it. Im not sure how I came across the page, but im a frequent wikipedia user and I really like the sample to the point where I used google to find any kind of similar sounds and I could not find one. I was wondering if you made a whole song or just those 30 seconds, and if you did, if I could get it to download because it was amazing, or if you know any classical groups similar to your creation. I really appreciate the sample and hope you can help me out!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by AndarooDude (talkcontribs) 03:02, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliment. I've been thinking of finishing the piece, but right now that's all there is to it. Perhaps in the near future. ›mysid () 10:38, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vector image request

I noticed you created the list-class icon (Template:List-classicon). I was wondering if you could change the color of the B-class icon (Template:B-classicon) to match the color of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team Assessment's color (which is #c8fb7b). I tried contacting Sir Iain, but he hasn't responded for a while. Thanks, Xnux the Echidna 13:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. ›mysid () 07:33, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

fast request from Photo Editor in Washington, DC

July 1, 2008

Dear Mysid,

Please forward your email address and reply asap/immediately to Hollmarsh1@aol.com.

I found your improved drawing of the map of Biafra at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Biafra.svg while doing photo research for a textbook publisher on a project. I thought your image might be appropriate for inclusion in a literature curriculum.

I am specifically seeking to confirm that you are the creator of this improved illustration, based on the original work of Željko Heimer (who I am in touch with). I seek your permission to possibly publish it within the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License Version 1.2 and any other applicable laws.

With your permission, we will credit you for your work in the image's permanent description page. Please explicitly state the credit line you require, for example, Courtesy Mysid.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. We are in a hurry to confirm the images that will be used.

Thank you,

Holly Marshall Photo Researcher for Pearson Digital Learning Group Washington, D.C.
