Goals

Some Wikipedians have formed this WikiProject to better organize information in articles and categories related to Physics. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page.

Attention! The initial goal of this project was to arrive at a consensus about the organization of Category:Physics and some of its particular subcategories, since they seemed to be lacking some structure, and eariler were fairly unorganized. The relevant discussion can be found here. After dealing with this problem, the project has hopefully developed into a base for solving other problems on Wikipedia related to physics.

Scope

The scope of this project is basically everything on Wikipedia that is concerned with physics. Since that is too broad for one project, the focus here is on articles and categories dealing with fundamental physics topics. In particular:

  • Organization of categories in the top level Category:Physics
  • General physics discussions, e.g. concerning the content of physics articles on Wikipedia.
  • Watching out for pseudoscience in physics articles and categories (see the list topics).

The physicists' watchlist

There are alot of physics pages on Wikipedia that could use reading by a knowledgable eye. In addition to writing notes on the talk page, each participant can also list 2-3 pages, which they think currently need attention, directly on the project page next to their name.
