Sudden Pregnancy
On 18th January 2009, Xiaxue revealed to Today, one of the local newspapers, that she was 2 months pregnant. "It was totally unexpected," the 24 year old exclaimed, "I thought of having a baby but never this early at this stage of my life."

The emotional Xiaxue broke down a few times during the interview session, citing lack of
mental preparation and the fear of motherhood as her main sources of concern.

"It's a shotgun marriage," the blogger confessed, "but we will make the best out of the
situation and raise a family together."

The wedding reception will be held in March at a void deck under a HDB flat near the condomium where she and her boyfriend has been staying for the past one year. Afterwhich the newly-wed will be headed to Batam, Indonesia for a week-long honeymoon.

Wendy Cheng, better known by her pseudonym, Xiaxue, is a Singaporean Celebrity Blogger, TV Host and Freelance Writer. She has written articles for different newspapers such as The New Paper and Maxim Magazine[citation needed].

Early life

Cheng attended River Valley High School[citation needed] after achieving a score of 269[citation needed] in her Primary School Leaving Examinations. In Secondary School, she did well initially.[citation needed] However, as she progressed through her school years, her results deteriorated as she joined social cliques.[citation needed] She claimed that even her teacher isolated her friends[1] from her as she was regarded as a bad influence.

After graduating from River Valley High School, she enrolled into Singapore Polytechnic studying Mass Communication.[citation needed]

Blog

Cheng's pseudonym, Xiaxue[2], which means snowing in Chinese, was initially somebody's else's pseudonym. When that person stopped using MIRC, she took the place of that person and decided to use this pseudonym to create her blog.

On 10 November 2005, Xiaxue was ranked as the 5th most powerful woman in the blogosphere by Jack of all Blogs..

Controversies

Xiaxue has been criticized for her heavy use of expletives in her entries[3] and has been known for her extreme defensiveness towards criticism.[4][5] She was also accused of impersonating a rival blogger on 15 January 2006.[5]

On 20 July 2005, Xiaxue's blog was hacked into and defaced; the hacker also gained access to her e-mail account and deleted all her e-mails. She regained access to her blog and e-mail account two hours after discovering the hacking, and made a police report.[6][7][8] The local Internet community condemned the hacking.[7][9][10]

In a post she wrote on 16 October 2005, Xiaxue criticized a disabled man who scolded an able-bodied man for trying to use the handicapped toilet.[11] This entry provoked many of her readers, who saw it as insensitive and unreasonable. After receiving hundreds of complaints from angry netizens, two of her three then-sponsors terminated their endorsement deals with her.[12][13][14]

In a post she wrote on 28 December 2005, Xiaxue claimed that Singaporean girls were repeatedly molested by foreign workers at Orchard Road during festivals and special celebration events, and suggested that carrying aerosol foam sprays on Orchard Road should be banned.[15] The post, which the local Internet community condemned as being "racist" for its derogatory references to the local population of Bangladeshi construction workers,[16][17] prompted an angry netizen to start a petition to ban the blogger from Orchard Road.[17]

Xiaxue's review of the iPhone was dubbed the 'Worst iPhone review so far' by Daniel Lyons of Forbes Magazine, one of the top technology bloggers in the US[18].

In July 2008, fellow blogger Dawn Yang, with whom she has had conflicts with since November 2006, launched a lawsuit against her for allegedly defamatory remarks made in a blog post on June 30[19].
