Katerina Graham

Hello Shadowlynk. could you please provide a photograph of Katerina Graham or allow me access to upload a picture of the actress? thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikigraham43 (talkcontribs) 09:25, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have an image of the person, nor do I have the power to allow or disallow one, but if you read the image guideline it will tell you how to upload one. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 19:39, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My page that I worked on for over an hour by myself has just been deleted and I would like to request a deletion review. I find this deletion to be unfair and unjust and if you could reply to me that would be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tylerdotcom13 (talkcontribs) 05:52, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a personal website host. A page about you and your friends, who do not meet the notability guideline, is not what Wikipedia is for. If you seriously want a review of the deletion, you should talk to the admin who deleted it: check the activity log for the page to see who deleted it. Fair warning, though, I really don't see much of a chance of it being restored. The rules are pretty clear on this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:03, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I won't give a damn if they don't restore it, I'm still going to do all that is in my power to try to get it back. I do seriously want a review of the deletion, so I'm doing everything possible to have Anthony Appleyard restore my page. Tylerdotcom13 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 06:52, 16 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Good luck, then. Oh, and while I'm at it, I should add that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball; possible future success does not make someone notable, only current verifiable success. If you DO ever win those awards, rest assured someone will write an article about you, but not until that actually happens. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:59, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Artist name change

Dear Shadowlynk, I tried to edit an excisting page by creating a new one, but did it wrong. The goal was to edid the artist name only. From Kizzy Getrouw to Kizzy like on other sites as imdb.com. that officially only use the one name. How can I do it the right way, or does wikipedia do that? Thank you for your help. Boratboy (talk) 20:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have more references that cite that change than just imdb? If so, I would put a message on the current article's talk page to discuss it. In the future, if you want to move a page, click the move tab at the top of the page. Because of the cut-and-paste, I don't think it can be done with just a simple move anymore. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 20:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi this is kishore patnaik ; why do you want to delete our page?

Hi,

Can you please tell us why you intend to delete page Ancientindia 1?

We clarify that the page here is not meant for advertisement because we do not encourage joining of laymen into the group, though we do not bar them, as it is a professional group. However, we believe in propagating about the group because we need support from people regarding the ideas of the group.

Mostly, the membership of the group is on invitation.

"AncientIndia" 2 is one of its kind, that a professional group has been started by a non professional member and in fact, we incessantly create content and send it to group members as well as several professionals for their comment.

Often it happens that we are INTRODUCING the professionals to the content and fruitful discussions follow such introduction.

hope this clarifies and we request you to kindly remove the speedy deletion tag.

regards,

Kishore patnaik —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kishorepatnaik (talkcontribs) 07:42, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I answered this on the talk page of the article, but since it's been deleted I'll sum up what I said there: the article didn't state how the group was notable. Review the guidelines for web content and organization notability for more information. Also, review the guidelines on conflicts of interest, since you founded this group. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 02:02, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Shadowlynk How do u make tables, add pictures, and add hyperlinks on an article Thanx Zappo123456789 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zappo123456789 (talkcontribs) 10:32, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tables are the second button from the right above the editing box. Images are the sixth button from the left (make sure the image has been uploaded to Wikipedia). Links to other Wikipedia articles are the third button from the left, and links to other websites are the fourth button from the left. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 02:02, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wetwater Productions

Hey Shadowlynk,

That seems reasonable. I read the link about notable content. But a question- I have information about new, emerging material that is a few months away from getting critical attention, but I know there are individuals out there looking for information on it from a reliable source like Wikipedia- so how do I get the information out there? My item, although not yet considerably notable, is a thouroughly described and well-written entry that is similar to a more well known and longer running sitcom like "30 Rock," with no misrepresentations or obvious exaggerations of any kind. Where the item is not yet considerably noteable, it is clear that the reason is it not yet noteable is that it is at a stage of developement that preceedes its critical attention by a few months. My appeal is that I wish to create a history of this item on Wikipedia now, as a reference that may be built upon as it recieves critique, so that there will be an online resource to gather information as it emerges. Thank you for your time, Shadowlynk, I look forward to hearing back from you at your convenience. Our previous dialogue follows-- David DavidBarkerIII (talk) 07:53, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi- I believe that my item is valid because this is an article about a sitcom to be released on the web. "Wetwater Productions" is not a company, but rather a title of a sitcom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DavidBarkerIII (talk • contribs)

Articles about web content also have to show how the content is notable. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:30, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not the proper medium for getting the word out about something that isn't yet notable. Self-promotion of any kind is generally frowned upon, and Wikipedia requires all its information to be verifiable in outside, already published sources. Don't worry about gathering information now; if and when it becomes notable, information can be gathered at that time. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

K thanks. Oh well. I'll wait a while then, I guess, until its released or publicized. I know its kind of a moot point because of the fact that it lacks information from outside reliable sources, but I didnt intend to use Wikipedia as self promotion or getting the word out, just as a solid reference, but I see what you're talking about. Thanks for your help, I'll try again in a few months :0( Dave 67.49.30.68 (talk) 08:34, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Thanks for the welcome ^_^ Do you know where i can get more information on placing Templates in wiki pages?? I would like to put a "Part of the Politics series" template on my Drive-Thru Voting page, so it resembles the template on postal voting Snowmaninthesun (talk) 19:04, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Any time you place a template name in double braces, like this: Voting, that template is added to the page. The template itself can be found and edited at its name preceded by the word "Template:", like this: Template:Voting. In this case, you should be able to just add Voting to the top of your article to include it. More information about navigation templates like that one can be found here. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:51, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and an introduction

Hello Shadowlynk! Thank your for alerting me about my article on linfo. I was so afraid of my unreliable internet connection and did not see information on the "save page button," so I saved too early on in the article. I'm sure it looked funny with only 1 sentence! I have subsequently added the entire article which does fit under the criteria of noteworthiness. I know only admins can delete articles but I wasn't sure if you take the speedily deletion thing off? If not, that's okay. I'm sure they will understand it was just a novice Wiki mistake on my part to save too early. Cosmogirl777 (talk) 08:59, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Cosmogirl777[reply]

I didn't get a chance to see your additions, as it looks like the article was deleted anyway. According to the deletion log, it still didn't assert independent verifiability. All Wikipedia article subjects need to show notability with reliable, third-party sources. I understand that mistakes can happen if you save too early, but make sure you either state the importance of the subject or include some sources in the first version of the article. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 19:23, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What did i do wrong? i can provide the citation if needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peer2PeerNet (talkcontribs) 18:44, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citations are important, but there's also the matter that Wikipedia is not an internet guide, nor is it a mirror of existing internet media. Articles about IRC channels or message boards don't need a complete copy-paste of their rules and regulations; rather, the article should have a general synthesis of what the web content is about. What that article really needs at this point is reliable, third-party sources. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 18:52, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Query?

Hi there. I was curious as to the extent of 'blatant advertising' that you marked my page as? Please instruct me as to the severity of the content, and what I need to add the name to the wikipedia. The person in question is involved in a lot of positive things for the indigenous community and struggling children / ESL students to improve on their English reading and writing skills etc. Please let me know. Thanks! RabeckInt (talk) 23:40, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Articles must be written from an objective, neutral point of view. He may do great things, but that's not a judgment for Wikipedia to be making. Stick to the verifiable facts that you can cite from reliable sources, and the article won't be deleted for being too promotional. Make sure the person meets the guideline for notability of individuals. Lastly, your username seems to imply that you're a member of the same organization as this individual, which would be a conflict of interest. You may find it difficult to write an article from an objective standpoint because of this, so it may just be easier to wait for someone else to write it first. All of these links go to pages explaining these important guidelines and policies, so check them out for the details you need. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:02, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I am the Vice President of Fawkner Secondary College's SRC. I was posting information about our school on it's wikipedia page as was going to reference it back to our schools website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattycraft (talkcontribs) 08:15, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's important not to directly copy the text from your website. Wikipedia is licensed under the GFDL, and to directly use the website's text you'd have to release it under that license. Paraphrasing and citing it, of course, is just much easier. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:20, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Shadowlynk, I don't even know you. And you can't stop me from editing and you can't delete me. For example, I'm edited your talk page. And you stated that I can't edit anything until the end of the week. Give me one decent reason why I should stop editing Wikipedia. By the way, was this suppose to be a joke? talk 16:09, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't say it. You did, and then faked my signature. The page history records who adds comments, so you're not fooling anybody. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not "really" trying to fool anyone including you. I don't know how "I" would tell myself that I can be ceased from editing. Well, I must have forgot to log myself out and someother user started editing under my name and tried to pull a prank on me and you. Well, in the end, sorry if I wasted your time on this foolish hoax. talk 00:13, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK then. Sorry to hear that. Sounds like now would be a good time to change your password, and make sure to keep your login secure. Anyway, I removed the comment from your talk page, since one way or the other it's not legitimate. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:00, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

Dear Shadowlynk, I was wondering where do you get pictures from to put on a page?Julianster 16:51, 29 Novemeber (UTC)

Pictures on Wikipedia pages must be uploaded to Wikipedia before they can be used. Please see WP:UPI for information about how to do it, as it's a fairly detailed process involving determining the copyright of the image and I'm not too familiar with it. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikify-ed done???

Thanks for your attention to _BOTH_ the "Hamilton Project" _AND_ the "Hamilton_Group_(disambiguation)" pages I/we created. I'm still very new at this. (Like that wasn't obvious!) Please take a look at them now and tell me if I've added the reference you wanted, and/or if it's been properly cleaned up...
i.e.- What's next? LP-mn (talk) 07:04, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What the articles really need is expansion. Some more explanation of what the project is, some history and the like, would be helpful. For the disambiguation page, there should be about a sentence for each link to explain what each Hamilton Group is and what it does. If you can find any other third-party reliable sources, adding those would be quite helpful. Leave the tags on for now; those tags add the pages to categories which more experienced editors check for things to clean up. I'm not particularly familiar with the guidelines for disambiguation pages myself, but if it's tagged for attention, someone who does know them will be sure to take a look at it eventually. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:16, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK... I know NOTHING about the for-profit companies, other than the fact that they appear higher in Google's list when one enters 'Hamilton Group' (and/or 'Hamilton Project'). I included them for both completeness as well as to illustrate that there are plenty of Hamilton Groups apart from the one already listed in Wikipedia. As for the Hamilton Project, I hope someone else would flesh that out, as I have no more information about them than what I read in Magazines and their own web site. One I've cited, the other isn't unbiased. Did what I could... 67.220.13.180 (talk) 09:06, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine. The whole ideal of Wikipedia is that several people working together can make an article better. With any luck, that will happen for the pages you started. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 18:27, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whizkidz speedy delete notice

Hi, you placed a speedy delete notice on my talk page about this article. I have no idea what that article was and so far as I recall have never edited it. Perhaps you got the wrong Wikipedian? You might like to advise the correct person, who I suppose may have an opinion about the article's deletion. I for one have no opinion. I have deleted the notice from my talk page. Nick Thorne talk 21:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I have no idea how that got there, or how it even ended up in that odd subpage. I don't even remember who the original article creator was. I must have fell asleep at the keyboard or something. Sorry! -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:11, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Even worse, I don't even see a record in the deletion log of when it existed in the first place! That's VERY strange... anyway, I'm sorry for the odd message. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:19, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oops i made a mistake on the category and stub type thank you for fixing this. --Raiku9 (talk) 06:43, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

oh my that is alot. --Raiku9 (talk) 06:53, 8 December 2008 (UTC) its resourceful though thanks for showing me it. --Raiku9 (talk) 06:53, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Four Years

Have they been as good for us as they have for you?

Do you perhaps come here because, if you overreact again and delete everything you can, they can just bring it back instantly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.24.186.150 (talk) 09:24, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SL, good to see you're still doin' alright out here! We still kinda miss ya, even if you deleted everything and left in a huff all those years ago. Stop by and say hi sometime, for gosh sakes -- you know where to find us! 76.234.23.75 (talk) 09:35, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't know how good they've been for you guys, so how could I compare? Not that I'm particularly interested. I know, some folks mistakenly got the idea in their heads that I said khakain was gonna die; that's my fault for not saving my own goodbye message BEFORE irrationally blowing a gasket. :) What I said was that I thought khakain was going in a direction I could no longer support. Who knows, maybe khakain isn't going that way anymore. I won't lie, I've been tempted to check on more than one occasion. But the fact remains that even though some of you kinda miss me, many only miss the idea of having someone else to prod into having wild reactions. Like 72.24.186.150 here. And a few understandably just plain kinda DON'T miss me, mainly the ones who had to spend actual time and energy cleaning up my mess. I couldn't even begin to know how to make it up to them; an apology isn't good enough, and I'd rather not have that resentment so close at all times. So if you miss my one sentence goofiness and rambling 20 sentence attempts at seriousness, you know where to find ME.
As for why I'm here, I covered that already, two years ago. :) In fact, didn't I already say all of that last paragraph, too? Suddenly it's giving me a lot of deja vu vibes. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:53, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, it's not like a request to start posting all the time again, just an invitation to throw in a hello every now and then, maybe do some reminiscing. Heck, samhain and Swirve's gone now, it's really the only place left to do so for that whole part of your Internet tenure. And for the record, the one who did the majority of the cleanup is the one asking you to stop by sometime.  :)
Besides, after finding VGX's MySpace, there's really nothing on Earth worth prodding anymore. It's like the Holy Grail was obtained, or something. 76.232.2.141 (talk) 04:38, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I do appreciate the idea that I'm at least somewhat overstating that third group of people. Still, I actually got most of the reminiscing out of my system when Swirve died, so for now I think I'll pass on being the next Holy Grail. I'm still familiar with the violence inherent in the system. >_> -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 08:16, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Logged In

Dear Shadowlynk, I just found out that I'm not fully logged in. How can I get logged in all the way? talk 09:36, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Try logging out, then logging back in. If you can't, clear your browser's cookies and then try it again. Also, it's easier to sign messages on talk pages by just typing four ~'s, like this: ~~~~. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 09:01, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where are my browser cookies located at. Julianster(Talk) 22:28 12 December 2008 (UTC)

In your browser's cookie jar. :) But seriously, it'd be somewhere in one of the options menus, depending on the browser, but it doesn't seem to matter because you are logged in now. Anyway, I am not tech support (at least in my off hours), nor am I American Idol. If you have Wikipedia questions, I'll be happy to answer them, but let's keep the topic of conversation limited to that. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 05:38, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

Dear Shadowlynk, I just want to say sorry about puting that article about being a singer. It just that I want to be one so badly. It's like I want to be the next new thing out there in the world. So I'm truely sorry for that. Julianster {Talk} 01:33 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey, whatever. No big deal. Wikipedia is fairly generous about making mistakes, so long as you learn from them. Almost everyone's first article breaks the rules. If you make a mistake, someone will tell you, you do your best not to do it again, and everyone's happy. I just... don't need to hear about it all the time. :) I can't help you with your quest, nor can Wikipedia, though it's here for you after you're famous. For now, we can move on. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:57, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So do you know any websites that can help me with my problem. Julianster {Talk} 22:45 17, December 2008 (UTC)

No. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 23:54, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shadowlynk, you marked the page I was doing for a company as advertisement. I removed as much "advertisement sounding sentences as i can" but I'm not too sure if it is enough for you to remove the tag about it being a blatant advertisement. I was actually trying to make it sound more historic than advertisement. Please advise. Is the first page I made.(Kirin lover (talk) 10:30, 22 December 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Don't worry, it wasn't tagged for deletion, just cleanup. It looks like a few editors have gone over it and taken out most of the ad content. It looks much better now. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:45, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where? I don't see any of the pages you've edited recently as messed up. Anyway, for future reference, go to the history tab, click on the date and time of the most recent unbroken version, click edit, then save. This will revert the page back to that version. Be careful to only revert your own edits when doing this, as you typically don't want to revert someone else's edits unless they were vandalism. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 02:20, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can change your password by logging in and clicking on my preferences at the top of the page. You can technically request a username change here, but note that it won't be done for frivolous reasons. It may be just as easy to make a new account. As long as no one's using it for nefarious purposes, unused accounts aren't a problem. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 03:10, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page

Can you like make page about yourself or someone is not known all over the world. Is it possible to do it without anyone deleting the page. !Julianster (Talk) 15:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

If you're talking about YOU, feel free to use your own userpage. Even if you aren't notable enough for a main article, you can always say a bit about yourself on your userpage so people know what you're interested in and what you might be able to assist with on Wikipedia. If it's someone else, check the biographical notability page carefully to see if they meet those guidelines. If they do, and you have the sources to prove it, make the article. If not, there's nothing you can do, I'm afraid. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 19:27, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Password

Dear Shadowlynk, a user on wikipedia, his name is Christianster45. He is upset that he can't log in anymore. I guess his password is not working or he forgot it. He came to me for answer. What should I tell him? Julianster (Talk) 15:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Note that what User:Julianster typed earlier is almost a lie. He tried changing my password for no reason whatsoever and mostly without my permission. He changed my password from alligator to a misplacing of the word pageant. Since he can't remember how he spelt it, I can no longer edit as much as I did before. So my question is "Should I get a new user?" I don't think I can delete my old one. User:Christianster45 23:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, first I wouldn't be spelling out your actual passwords where everyone can see them, slightly wrong or not. Second, you can try using the "Forgot password" link on the login page. Third, I'm not experienced in handling dispute resolution, so I would prefer not to play the middle man in your fights. If you two cannot get along, and not play pranks on each other's account settings, I would suggest finding someone with experience who can help out. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am the author of the article Neural Lab. Neural Lab is free software developed at the University of Guanajuato. I wanted to create an article to provide in detail what Neural Lab is. The university is not looking to promote or advertise the Neural Lab software as it is not for sale, and it will not be for sale in the future either. The university wants to make accessible this software to students and researches. Neural Lab has been in Wikipedia for several months in the Neural Network Software page, however, the university wanted to move the external link on that page to an internal page in Wikipedia if possible. --Sergioledesma (talk) 21:34, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For-profit sale or not, Wikipedia articles cannot be used for self-promotional purposes. That said, if you have any third-party sources that establish the software's notability, you may be able to rewrite the article. The article must be written from a neutral point of view, however, which may be difficult to do if you have any sort of conflict of interest with the software or the university. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 22:14, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for helping me clarify this. You are completely right. I encourage my students to use Wikipedia to search for homeworks and research. I wrote a preview of the article and I´m working on how to make it more neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sergioledesma (talkcontribs)

"Religion of Susquehanna"

Hello,

My name is Randy Robertson. I'm a professor of English at Susquehanna University, and I am teaching a course on the history of media. One of my assignments for the class is that we create our own religion. The point of the exercise is to show students how sacred texts can accrue material over time, some of it inconsistent with what was there before.

It is also, however, a serious attempt to define the values of the class. As students will be students, the initial comments in the entry will tend toward the frivolous, but my hope is that over time they will become more serious, and that as a class we will build a page that will stimulate thoughtful discussion. It was originally titled "Religion of Susquehanna," but because Susquehanna's Board of Trustees might get upset about that, I propose to call the entry "A New SU Religion." I hope that you let this page stand. Many academics are hostile to Wikipedia; I like using it as a learning tool in the new media world, where movements can be created online before they exist in the "real world." If you would like to discuss any aspect of this proposal further, please feel free to contact me at robertson@susqu.edu.

Sincerely, Randy Robertson Randy Robertson (talk) 19:17, 16 January 2009

Please understand that Wikipedia is not a free web host. Wikipedia is its own project with its own goal of being an open encyclopedia, and as such all articles in main space have to be about verifiable, encyclopedic subjects. As the person said on your talk page, it would be best to set up your own Wiki or find some other free Wiki host. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 03:47, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Gradus Futura"

Hello Shadowlynk

Im not sure how to comment on this talk page. Here I go. I have read and read the guidelines for the articles and the new user forum. i am trying very hard to repost my article to get it correct but I keep getting them Deleted. I copied the same format of a similar article and just used different article content. I would not like you to tell me just what I did wrong but how I can go about correcting it. Hamann motorsport is the article I am trying to fallow as a guide.

Thanks, Angie

gradus futura (talk) 1:28 am, PST, 24 January 2009(UTC)

I now notice it was just deleted. What's going on. This is incorrect. Really. Angie^^^^ gradus futura (talk) 2:28 am, PST, 24 January 2009(UTC)

I'm afraid it's correct. The article had no statements to assert the company's notability, according to the company notability guidelines. It also didn't have any third-party reliable sources. As for Hamann Motorsport, that article seems to have its own issues. It's been around for a long time, though, so I'm hesitant to put it up for deletion. However, I will tag it for cleanup. Please note that articles are dealt with on a case-by-case basis; just because one article is a certain way, doesn't mean every article gets to be that way. That other article will be handled in due time, I'm sure. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 19:12, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shadowlynk, Im not sure i understand. So if my article was correct cant I put it back? Can you? Do I have any suggestions? Thanks angie,

gradus futura (talk) 12:41 pm, PST, 24 January 2009(UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by GradusFutura (talkcontribs)

No, you misunderstood. You said the deletion was incorrect. I said the deletion was correct. It would not be a good idea to put the article back, unless you can provide sources that establish the company's notability. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 22:29, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Hypogeum

Not only was The Hypogeum non-notable, it was from a vanity press and the plot was lifted straight from the vanity press web site. I blanked the plot section and included html comments to alert admins should this article ever be ressurrected. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:46, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I guess I should've checked for copyvios first, it might've qualified for speedy. Well, either way it's gone now. With any luck the author won't persist. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:19, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boing Baa Network

this is not far my company has a right to be listed on this website if coke and Pepsi and other company's can be listed why can't mine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Commander beef (talkcontribs) 07:17, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because your company is not notable according to Wikipedia's guidelines. Coke and Pepsi are. Also because the article you keep reposting is blatant advertising. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:20, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boom boom magazine - proposed changes to fix issues pointed out earlier today

Thanks for taking your time to review the new Boom Boom Magazine article. I agree with the things you proposed to see fixed to highten the quality. I've now included a secondary source, the Danish Arts Agency, which is a governmental institution under the Danish Arts Council. I hope it suffices as a valid reference? I've checked the notability definitions, and the organisation/institution certainly meets the demands listed in the article on notability

In addition, I've remedied the lack of category problem.

I'm new to wikipedia editing, so I dare not ratify the changes myself. If you have the time, it'd be greatly appreciated if you could give the article a second view.

Thanks in advance! Bergholt (talk) 13:55, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The reference does back up a statement in the article, but the article still lacks information about how the magazine meets the notability criteria. The organization itself might, but if the magazine itself doesn't it might be better to just make an article about the organization and then mention in that article that the organization publishes a magazine. In any case, make sure the article itself directly states how the magazine is important, and make sure the source backs up that claim. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 00:50, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm note sure I understand. The source I gave is not the publisher of the magazine, but a secondary source that describes the role and nature of the magazine. The source is governmental and notable, which is what's asked for in the notability requirements as I interpret them (perhaps wrongly). I've been reading a number of articles on similar topics, and they also cite notable secondary sources to meet the primary criterion of notability. If you look af IFPI, e.g., none of the sources state that the organisation is notable per se. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.81.79.233 (talk) 15:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It just needs a little more sourcing, that's all. The source is notable, but it's only a bare overview. I wouldn't worry, I don't think it's in any danger of deletion anytime soon, but if you find any additional sources that discuss the magazine, they would be most helpful. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:57, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very musch for the welcome. Just go ahead and delete this when done reading. I need some help with the Rose Mercury page, uploading an image. Would you please go to her official myspace page http://www.myspace.com/rosemercurymusic and use the profile image there as the photo for the Rose Mercury page? This is actually Rose writing this and I am giving you my permission to upload the picture. I really want it there. Please help! Thank you! Rose (Marie) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marieb987 (talkcontribs)

You can learn all about the image uploading process here, including all the copyright concerns. It's a lot of work, and I'm not particularly interested in wading through it, so I'd suggest checking it out yourself. Also, it's generally not a good idea to create articles about yourself. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 21:27, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, my article is up for deletion now, could you please personally help me with shaping the page up? I just posted a blog on my myspace page giving you permission to use my picture. That way you know it's really me and you have it. You are much better at this than I am, I can see. You're fast and professional at it. I need some help. I am asking you to please intervene and help me keep my page up and not have it deleted. I need this help and assistance. I would not say unnotable...my page had over 1 million views and i was the number 1 gothic artist on myspace for all of last winter. I deleted the page, and just came back this january and need help with this. I am asking you to look into it and to please help me. Thank you for your time and energy. I am greatful. I know it's a hassle, but I am really hoping you'll be my angel and do this. I know it's not best to write about yourself, but I wanted it accurate. Please, do help. You're really smart.I did not write this myself. Wikipedia already had a page for me, Corinna Fugate. In January I legally changed my name to Rose Mercury. I wanted to updated it so I tried to help. Please help me with this I am overwhelmed. Rose —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marieb987 (talkcontribs)

Well, the page at Corinna Fugate still exists and has been worked on. Really what should have been done is the old article should have been moved to the new title with added information about the name change. Since the old article's gone through all the deletion mess, it would have saved a lot of hassle. At this point, I'm not sure what should be done. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 21:54, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, what I've done is redirected the Rose Mercury page to the existing Corinna Fugate article. If you want the old page at the new title, you should request it at the old article's talk page or with the requested move process. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 21:58, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

keeps getting speedily deleted - 3 - only to be recreated. What's the next step with something like this - Afd? pablohablo. 20:07, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It appears it's been protected now as a typo redirect, so it should be taken care of. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
