Country Club Controversy
The country club resignation is cited and important to Mr. Dawson's bid for RNC Chairman. If it is removed again I will ask that this page be put under semi-protection from vandalism. 128.36.158.206 (talk) 00:08, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Is there a reason to remove a well-documented and relevant fact like Mr. Dawson 12-year membership in the Forest Lake club other than to protect him politically? How is this even vaguely justifiable? Myca (talk) 10:57, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Okay. If, as the 08:11, 8 December 2008 edit claims, the information about Mr. Dawson's 12-year membership in the Forest Lake Country Club is incorrect, can we get a cite? I'm basing the 12-year-membership claim on the cited article . . . it's entirely possible that the article is wrong, but absent any sort of cite, I'm certainly not going to assume it. Myca (talk) 16:37, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
This issue seems to be notable and is not discussed on his page. We should discuss here and figure out what the facts are for inclusion into the article. Remember (talk) 18:18, 8 December 2008 (UTC) Removed information -
- Dawson resigned his 12-year membership in a whites-only country club after The State newspaper launched an inquiry, because he felt it could "become a distraction to his efforts to help win elections for Republicans in South Carolina." Many have called his resignation opportunistic given the proximity to the election for Chairman of the Republican National Committee, for which he is a candidate. [1]
Also a letter is now being circulated that defends Dawson [2]. This may need to be included. Remember (talk) 18:22, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
