**I am not a baseball expert, but I believe that a [[double (baseball)|double]] means getting to second base. In this case it actually meant scoring two RBIs on The Double, which was far more important than how far the hitter advanced, as the second run ended the game. Requested move
I propose moving this page to The Double (baseball). I moved this article from The Double (Mariners) in August 2008 because as I understand it, U.S. major professional sports team names in article titles should include the city and nickname. I gave some thought to moving it to The Double (baseball) at that time as well, but I didn't on the grounds that maybe this play isn't well-known outside of Seattle, or maybe another baseball team has an event known as "The Double" in its lore. In the last 7 months I haven't seen any evidence that another team has a notable event called "The Double", but I'm waiting for some other opinions because I'm still not convinced this play is well-known in the baseball world outside of Seattle.
