Revision as of 20:08, 19 April 2009

I am going to be gone for some time. I may be on every once in a while, but I need to take a wiki-break. I'm letting all my friends here, the wiki-projects I am involved in, and everyone else know. I will try to get back as soon as possible. Thank you for putting up with this, but I need some time to clear my head in regards to some things including Wikipedia. Sincerely --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:08, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I only signed onto the Signpost so my talk page wouldn't be so empty! ;_;

Christmas Template

Do not remove "Baby Jesus theft" from the Christmas template. It is timely and appropriate. Baby Jesus theft is becoming something of a modern tradition in America, and such thefts are receiving significant news coverage. That said, it is not your place to remove topics from the template without taking it to the discussion page first. State your reasons for wanting to remove a topic and let others contribute to the discussion. Continued removals without legitimate discussion will be reported as vandalism.ReverendLogos (talk) 03:57, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

and who are you to tell me what I can and cannot do? it is innapropriate and should not be included. templates are not supposed to be novels, and this is one thing that can be removed. If you feel otherwsie take it to the discussion and try to gain favor there but good luck on that one. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 05:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Who are you to decide what is appropriate? WP does not censor. Who died and left you schoolroom monitor of the Christmas template? I don't see your name on it. The history of the template reveals you are execising some sort of ownership over that template which is inappropriate. You don't "own" the template. You leave that link in the template and take you concerns to the talk page before deleting anything. ReverendLogos (talk) 15:31, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Umm you take it to the discussion pal. Lets talk straight you come with an idea, i disagree therefore you have to discuss adding it, not me discuss dropping it, sorry but again you lose, maybe you should read up on this in the WP edit warring section. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 16:27, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Moved this discussion to your talk page, I've had enough of your arrogance and false preechings of wiki guidelines. You really dont know everything and I would watch out when you mess around with newpage and recent edit patrollers, because you won't win. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 18:10, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I note that there is an edit conflict between yourself and User:ReverendLogos regarding a difference of opinion on should Baby Jesus theft appear in the Template:Christmas. When two editors are not able to reach an agreement the way forward is to ask for another opinion. If there is a WikiProject, it is usual to either put a request for assistance on the talk page of that project, or to ask one of the project members. In this case the project would be Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Holidays. Or a request could be placed at Wikipedia:Third opinion. I have placed this same message on User:ReverendLogos's talkpage. SilkTork *YES! 20:36, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks for the help in settling all this. I have no personal hostility toward ReverendLogos so I think this is all cleared up. I expect to write to him next so thank you again. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:42, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Would you like to join the Koei Warriors Games WikiProject? It is everything Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi! To participate, add your name to the list of participants and apply {{User WPKoeiWarriors}} to your user page.

If you are not sure what a WikiProject is, it is a club of Wikipedians interested in the WikiProject's subject and helping to improve articles of or related to that subject. I saw you greatly contributed to the Samurai Warriors article, so I figured I'd ask if you wanted to participate in Wikipedia:Wikiproject/Koei Warriors Games. You do not have to, and neither are you obliged; I am just asking. -BlueCaper (talk) 22:39, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd love to join. Thanks for the invitation. I'm already a member of the WikiProject Three Kingdoms which is related so I am fully aware of the everything involved with being in a project. Thanks, I'll enlist immediately. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 22:51, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image use

Hi there; to avoid the risk of edit warring over images on Pre-Christian Alpine traditions‎ and other articles I really recommend reading through the manual of style - images, WP:IMAGES, and WP:NOTREPOSITORY (of images) which help explain when, how, and to what extent, images should be used to illustrate article content (i.e. the text). At the moment you seem to be approaching things from an WP:OWN angle, which is insufficient reason for reinserting content that others have changed. Please consider the typical edit cycle: bold, revert, discuss. ColdmachineTalk 18:12, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Zelda characters

You Wikipedia people need to stop erasing my corrections. My edits are done because the articles lack the proper English prose. There are too many articles that are written with weak sentence structuring, do not provide thorough facts and details, and are written with childish diction. My corrections are meant to provide a better description of the characters in question. They also provide all necessary details to complete their backgrounds and experiences. My corrections are "correct." Now that I've been leaving edit summary details, that should make you happy.

By the Grace of God, Elijah L. Luthor I (EmperadorElijah (talk) 23:57, 10 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Us wikipedia people? Okay, I'm gonna respond on your talk page, don't split discussions. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 00:02, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I certainly hope this "discussion" doesn't take long. And yes, I do want to help. But, as per your request I will stop. I just hope my "final" contributions are taken because the articles need to be thorough and concise. Other writers need to develop better English language skills if they want their audience to accept their results.

Also, Wikipedia is not going to make full page articles for each "minor" character in this game. That is why there is a "ZeldaPedia." My works were to have completeness for that very reason. And my results are canonical. I even provided more sources at the bottom.

By the way, you are only age nineteen. How did you become such an authority with Wikipedia? What does one have to do to have so much say with this writing format? I ask this in peace and would very much like to have the same privilege. By the way, once that "discussion" is over with, I would very much like to have the liberty to "repair" the other characters I didn't get to. I'll follow the guidelines as you have so strongly recommended. Just so you know, some of these guidelines seem too vague for some people, which is you one fails to comply and adhere to them. People keep changing the rules to suit their desires. I am a man who is very absolute and only wants permanent finality.

Give me your advice and let me know what you think of my requests. Again, I'm sorry for risking your anger. I just want perfection. You probably noticed that already. God be with you, dear friend.

(EmperadorElijah (talk) 00:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I have to admit I'm surprised you stopped. I was sure I was going to have to report you to be blocked. You can help in the discussion here if you would like. Feel free to add your references and bring up the points you would like to add to the article. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 00:34, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, do you reside in Europe? Your time stamps are beyond the Prime Meridian. Since you write in clear English, are you an American student studying abroad, a British citizen, or something else? Already, your date is on January the Eleventh. I reside in the American state of West Virginia and my Eastern Standard Time right now is a few minutes before Nine Post Meridiem. By the way, I'm discussing my suggestions for the Characters in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Hopefully, all the writers can find a consensus regarding the overall page and the additions and/or subtractions of characters we believe are necessary for reference. I can't wait to see the final result. (EmperadorElijah (talk) 01:54, 11 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I "reside" in the United States. The time stamp is for everyone on Wikipedia. It all runs on the same clock despite where you are. Where I live right now It is 9:00 pm. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 02:00, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ōtani Yoshitsugu in Samurai Warriors — Good idea or not?

Hey, Joe. Do you think that Ōtani Yoshitsugu would be a good playable character for a Samurai Warriors game? (You might want to read the article before answering; you might be disgusted by him. However, in another Koei game, Kessen, he is masked.) I think that if they used the model of how he looked in the original Kessen and his voice-over, he would be a good character. (Try searching the Web for picures of him in Kessen.) One of us should write a letter to Koei Corporations, the American subsidiary of Koei, Inc., suggesting it. Here is their address:

Koei Corporation 1818 Gilbreth Rd., Suite 235 Burlingame, CA 94010

So, when you read the article and find out how he looked in Kessen, would you think so? -BlueCaper (talk) 03:22, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I read the article, and I could see him being added, but the character I think would make the best new addition is Ii Naomasa. And I have written Koei before, pre-Dynasty Warriors 6. They responded to me, but my suggestions were never incoroporated in the game, haha. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 03:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your'e right; Ī Naomasa would be a good addition. Also, Kobayakawa Hideaki would. You can see their Kessen portraits [here]. -BlueCaper (talk) 03:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhh, its in the Kongming archive... okay cool! --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 03:47, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should we extend the WPKoeiWarriors scope to Kessen, Nobunaga's Ambition, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms series?

I have information on only the first Kessen game out of those series and they are not technically Warriors series. However, they follow the stories of the Warriors games and could use them in a not-as-focused-on group of similar games. I would think that it would attract more people to joining the WikiProject. Should we? -BlueCaper (talk) 13:55, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking not right now, maybe in the future, but I think we should purely concentrate on the "Warriors" games until our project develops a little bit more. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:53, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, good idea! I often get too creative and get too ambitious, thus leaving me with a lot of work to do and no clue on where to start. -BlueCaper (talk) 02:06, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine, we just have to set goals. Since our WikiProject is new and not established, our first order of business is recruiting. Lets try to find some good quality, trusty editors to join. I already attempted to recruit User:Deadkid_dk, but he turned the offer down. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 06:28, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

41 Invitations to WPKoeiWarriors

I have invited 41 Wikipedians to join the Koei Warriors Games WikiProject, all but two I saw listed in the Dynasty Warriors history page. (Three were listed in Talk:Samurai Warriors.) I am wiped out from all that editing of user talk pages!

If you see new members, do not be surprised.

BlueCaper (talk) 00:18, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, did you verify that they were actualkly making good contributions or could thye have possibly been vandals. Like did you look at there edits or just message a bunch of people? --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 02:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I only listed those who edited at least twice — most vandals would not even return to the "scene of the crime." Plus, if anybody is "misguided" in editing, I will take it upon my responsibility. I was misguided in editing once (not a vandal, just unknowingly trespassing some of the guidelines and snapping back at other users' retorts). I will just have to make it my burden to bear.
I was still just probably being too ambitious again when I invited all those users. But I am not that in saying that I will take care of any mishaps.
However, I know of some alleged sock-puppeteers who have not yet replied. I will just go and delete my messages from their pages now, to take extra precaution. -BlueCaper (talk) 13:09, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, good idea. I have been very co ntroversial in edits before too, but yeah I just meant legit vandals. Alright good work. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 16:55, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christmas Template

Yes, I forgot. Delete the addition if you wish. ReverendLogos (talk) 21:15, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No its fine, The one you added fits and cannot be merged really with anything else, so I don;t think anyone will have any problem. Its just for reference. Thanks again. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:25, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

3RR Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- Vary Talk 00:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hahaha, what a joke. If you're going to "block" me for reverting vandalism then go for it. Maybe I'll make a fake name and just blank your user page 4 times, but you won't be able to revert it the 4th time so I'll just win right? Give me a break seriously look at the facts before you speak. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 00:20, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't vandalism. Good faith edits are never vandalism. Dems on the move was wrong, about the numbering at least (no comment on the other content disputes), but s/he wasn't trying to damage the article. You were both edit warring, and you both should have been engaging in discussion instead of reverting each other. Neither of you were. That's why I warned you both. -- Vary Talk 00:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The other edit dispute (singular) doesn't matter because Dems made a good point in his edit summary and I just gave in. On the other hand I told him to use the discussion in the edit summary and he/she did no such thing. Dem also directed me to the discussion, which I looked at and saw no such reference to what he/she was trying to claim. So therefore just stop. I'm willing to drop it, I'm sure Dem is aswell, I hope you will too. Its done lets move on. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 00:42, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template Superman / Maxima

I've always considered Maxima to be an antagonist, but not a villian. She may have done some evil things, but I generally think of her as a hero, and generally associate her with her time as a member of the JLA. That's why I don't think she belongs in the villian category. Just sharing my thoughts.

Firestorm566 (talk) 06:17, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then go over to the enemy page and move her to allies in conflict. That will remove her from the template by default. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 06:18, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Barnstar!

WikiProject Koei Warriors Games has a new barnstar, the Musou Barnstar, and I am giving it out...to you!

Template:Musou barnstar

Do you like it? It is my first SVG on Wikipedia. The rectangle was supposed to be the stem of an "i;" I did not see the mistake until after I uploaded it on Commons. -BlueCaper (talk) 19:29, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I do like it. Thank you very much! You're putting a lot of effort into the project as well, so hopefully soon it will be a lot bigger. I placed the tags for the project in all the discussions related to it recently, so hopefully we will get some more members. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 19:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! -BlueCaper (talk) 21:02, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A few things...

  1. Batman was properly sorted to the first (upper most left) slot as it is the core for the category.
  2. Standing consensus is that the categories like this are not for collecting characters that are/were supporting characters and/or foes of the named subject.
  3. Even if 2 weren't the case, make sure the articles you are adding fit the category. Some of what you shotgunned are not "Batman" related topics. Such as:
  4. Check the categories of the articles you are going to add. You wound up adding this to articles that were already in its subcategories. These include:
Please look at the categories as they show on the article since some of these are added by infoboxes.

- J Greb (talk) 12:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm confused to the fact that the Superman Category does not follow this same policy. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 16:33, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at Category:Superman... there is a bit of re-catting needed on some of the articles (moving to Kryptonians, Superman titles, Superman storylines, and Superman templates and creating an analogue to the Batman lists and characters). But... I'm not seeing the over the top inclusion of foes (1 or 2 I think) or supporting characters (none). The Superman analogues though... those 4 should just drop. - J Greb (talk) 22:50, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Got New Music

I went to http://kongming.com/music and took the quiz. Since I got at least 3/5 right, I was able to freely download "Lu Bu's Theme ~ DW Fire Mix" from the website. It came from a Koei soundtrack, but Kongming was allowed to share it with people that were not in Asia to receive the soundtrack. Do you think that it could be put on Wikipedia, and that it could be featured on our WikiProject page? -BlueCaper (talk) 20:12, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If it was shared with you its now yours. So its sort of like if you own the rights to an image you can put it online. If music is no different, I see no problem with adding it. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:49, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done! I even desigmed my own free rationales for this situation, based on the non-free fair use ones. Here it is: File:ThemeofLuBu~DWFireMix.ogg -BlueCaper (talk) 23:01, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Big SW3 News!

There are 4 new characters confirmed to appear in Samurai Warriors 3Kosuke Anayama, Ujimasa Hojo, Ekei Ankokuji, and Naomasa Ii!!! It was confirmed in this YouTube video. -BlueCaper (talk) 03:28, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thats fan video. Is there any source backing this claim. I don't see any names anywhere besides what the maker of the video put. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 03:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have to look into it. Unfortunately, I can't email the video's creator or the person who told him the names (there was a thank-you message in the beginning) because I do not have an e-mail address. I do, however, have a YouTube account. So someone can just claim that he/she is the user 1495RTS and e-mail them. I am guessing that the person who found out this in the beginning is involved with the game's production. I cannot verify just yet. The easiest means to ask is via e-mail, but, as I said, I cannot access that means of communication. -BlueCaper (talk) 18:58, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To be perfectly honest, there is a agreat chance the person who told him the names just said that because it is who he wants. I don't know for sure, but I'm just saying. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 19:58, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I'm tired of those people who say something like they know what they're talking about, but don't. It would be cool if Naomasa Ii was in SW3, though, because we talked about it just a few months ago. (That would be weird.) I still advocate Yoshitsugu Ōtani to be a future SW character, but only if they keep the head looking the same as in Kessen. Oh, and I got the music from YouTube and the Kongming Archives ([1]) from scoring at least 3/5 on a Three Kingdoms quiz each day. I am out of opportunities for the day (they only let you quiz once a day), so if you want to try and download one, go right ahead. There are also some free to-ogg-vorbis converter softwares to download online, one of which I used to convert WAV and MP3 to OGG. Then, I put them on Wikipedia, with my signature Free-use-rationale tags for the situation of being regionally free. -BlueCaper (talk) 21:07, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm kind of busy, I have a lot of tests this week, so I'm going to start studying soon. But if I get the chance I will try to. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:11, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The two songs I uploaded from DW4 and SW may be deleted!

Right now, I and other editors are working on justifying the use on Wikipedia with a unique fair-use rationale (describing the situation) because it is technically non-free content even if outside Asian borders. If that is impossible, they may be deleted. However, the SW one might be okay to keep because it may have come from the recording of the track while played on the game instead of the soundtrack. If you want them, go to our WikiProject. They are there. When you begin playing them, click "More..." and click "Upload file." Take them while they're up for grabs...if you want them.

Oh, and good luck on your tests! -BlueCaper (talk) 16:57, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Koei Co., Ltd. Address

Hey, Joe. I know I listed the Koei Corporation USA address before, but if you want to go straight to the head honchos, here is the Japanese address:

Koei Co., Ltd. HEAD OFFICE
1- 18-12 Minowa, Kōhoku-ku
Yokohama 100-8799 JAPAN

Write the address exactly like that when writing to Koei. -BlueCaper (talk) 14:05, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks. Sorry I havn't been on as much lately. I've been real busy. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:51, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So have I. I actually think I'm being on Wikipedia way too much.
Oh, and I requested a Wikipedia ad for our WikiProject. It will use these pictures:

Spidey Super Stories

It's not vandalism, but I can understand if you think so. They appeared on a series of skits called "Spidey Super Stories" on the 70's kids show The Electric Company. Even if they villains sound ridiculous, they're true, and you can find episodes on Youtube by searching "Spidey Super Stories". The problem is, I've been told that Youtube isn't a place to source, and I can't find any other information these enemies besides the Youtube videos. RedCupman (talk) 10:07, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess add them and note in your edit summary that you are going to mention it in the discussion. then Mention in the discussion what you just told me. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 19:37, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Birthday!

Wikipedia wishes you a Happy Birthday!!

I saw the difference on the User page. -BlueCaper (talk) 13:36, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Haha thanks dude. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:00, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rankings

I reverted that because I was undoing some mistakes like having Lyndon B. Johnson at 11 with a green even though it's for the top 10. Sorry if it caused any confusion. My President is black 05:38, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Don't know if you noticed

No, I don't remember any hostility or offence from you recently. You've been fine. :) Haipa Doragon (talkcontributions) 11:24, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I add those gradually. I had all from Samurai Warriors uploaded, but some rogue bot erroneously marked them "orphaned." So somebody deleted them. I told that Wikipedian about the problem, and he restored File:NobunagaSW.jpg, but I am uploading the others. I can't do it all at once, because time doesn't allow it. But a start is not bad; how come you removed them from List of Samurai Warriors characters#Samurai Warriors? -BlueCaper (talk) 13:52, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you are referring to, but it was probably an accident. Sorry. Also on the samurai warriors character page, I do not know who was relating all the characters to Dynasty Warriors characters, but I removed all of them because they were not sourced. The only one I kept was the Tadakatsu Honda = Lu Bu. Sorry if this was you who did this, and we can discuss in in the Project if you disagree. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 20:11, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the information was unbacked as well. I just mean that I uploaded characters' pictures and put them there, and they are not there anymore. Should I add them back then? -BlueCaper (talk) 21:18, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 22:59, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I recruited a Wikipedian whose contributions were extremely benevolent to the Warriors articles. His name is Commander Shepard, so now the WikiProject has four members! -BlueCaper (talk) 01:17, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Four Members... Yes! haha. Good work. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
