Kim Taeyeon (Hangul 김태연 Hanja 金泰姸) was born on March 9, 1989. Commonly known as Taeyeon (태연), she is a South Korean singer, DJ, and dancer. She was born in the town of Jeonrado Jeonju.[2] Taeyeon graduated Jeonju High School on Februry 5th, 2008. Nicknamed 'Umma', 'Kid Leader', and 'Ajhumma', she is the leader of 9-member female group Girls' Generation (소녀시대) formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. Taeyeon and the other eight members of her group debuted on July 19, 2007.
