Maximillion Fife Alexander Cooper (born in Stone, England, 7 June, 1972) is an artist, fashion designer, film director, and skateboarder.


Biography

Maximillion Cooper is the son of an abstract artist and musician. After studying at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design Maximillion founded Gumball 3000 in 1999, a lifestyle brand that has gained recognition through creative pursuits including organizing the annual Gumball 3000 car rally.

Career

Maximillion studied a BA Hons Degree in Fashion Design at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London along with peers including Alexander McQueen and Luella Bartley in the early 90s whilst also pursuing a career as a racing driver. After finishing St. Martins he studied a second BA Hons Degree in Law at Sussex University. Before going to St. Martins Max modelled for numerous fashion brands in advertising campaigns and runway shows, including Giorgio Armani, Romeo Gigli, Joseph, Ralph Lauren and Mulberry. He also worked at Conde Nast Publishing as an assistant to Lucinda Chambers, Fashion Editor of Vogue Magazine.

Companies

Maximillion founded Gumball 3000 Limited in 1999. He is currently the CEO and Creative Director of the Gumball 3000 Group that now operates several companies under the Gumball 3000 name, including Gumball 3000 Apparel, Gumball 3000 Films, Gumball 3000 Licensing, Gumball 3000 Events, Gumball 3000 Music and his own creative consultancy company Maximillion Cooper Limited. The Gumball 3000 name has developed into a global lifestyle brand.

Gumball 3000 Apparel

Gumball 3000 Apparel, was launched in 2006 as a streetwear label as a result of the brands increasing recognition. Maximillion has designed for and collaborated with designers and labels including Puma AG, adidas Originals, DC Shoes, Royal Elastics, Rogue Status, Famous Stars and Straps. Inspired by the world's of action sports as well as the motorcar, Gumball 3000 Apparel is showcasing it's AW09 collection at this years Bread and Butter fashion Expo in Barcelona.

Gumball 3000 Films

Gumball 3000 Films was established in 2003 to produce the docufilm Gumball 3000 The Movie. Gumball 3000 Films now creates, develops, produces, directs and edits all kinds of film and creative film making including features, documentaries, music videos and commercial work. Maximillion has also edited, produced, directed and starred in many film and TV projects including directing the feature film called '3000 Miles' that premiered in London in 2006. He has also contributed to and featured in the Jackass MTV series with his friends Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine. A Heist movie scripted to incorporate the Gumball 3000 Rally is currently in pre-production.

Gumball 3000 Licensing

Maximillion is the author of several books including Gumball 3000 the Annual (ISBN 0-9547226-0-4).

Personal Life

Maximillion currently resides in London, with his wife and business partner Julie Brangstrup and their 4 children. As well as a passion for cars Max collects art, sneakers, skateboards and freestyle BMX frames. He still skateboards regularly and paints in his spare time.
