- Stereotactic radiosurgery, a medical procedure which allows non-invasive treatment for many different types of tumors
- Synchrotron Radiation Source, Daresbury Laboratory - a facility that uses synchrotron radiation for research purposes
- Simple random sampling - a sampling method in which a group of subjects is chosen from a larger group randomly and entirely by chance, such that each subject has the same probability of being chosen at any stage during the sampling process and all possible samples of the same size have equal probabilities of being chosen
- Stimulated Raman scattering - the inelastic scattering of photons
