I write based on reliable sources I've read. I've started some articles and helped expand and update others. I'm rereading the editor's manual with a mind to be able to easily find again what I read. My writing style is to communicate, so when possible I use words I already know well. I've read the info on making templates and will do so again some time. I think pages should be formatted so they are also ok when the browser window is square and when looked at using dial-up. My goal is to help the articles be accurate and readable by those of us who need a free encyclopedia.

Introduction to Wikipedia: Correct writing. Add facts w references. Discuss controversial changes first.

Who writes Wikipedia: evaluate Wikipedia accuracy with independent sources.
Collaborative writing: goal with objectives and communication.
Citing sources: Footnotes & References, web archiving, & list of citation tools.
Dead links: Wikipedia:Citing sources#Dead links, nowiki dead link, add date ref's link found inactive, look for archived or other page that supports.
Prevent dead links

DOI number: assigned by publisher to current URL.
Permalink: Link to . . ., #, *, ¶, etc. To changing content; some to specific version.
WebCite: non-profit which archives snapshot of particular page.
Google: caches web pages & other file types.
Internet Archive (IA): library archives every several weeks, unless sooner paid for, & shows in 6 to 12 months.
Pre-emptive archiving: using WebCite to archive just in case.
Repairing dead links
When not dead link, remove Template:dead link, e.g. {{dl}}, from the footnote.
If a Web archiving service has a copy, add the link to the reference.
Wayback Machine: Wikipedia:Using the Wayback Machine -- find on Internet Archive with fill-in-the-url-yourself or fill-in-Wikipedia-template method, etc.

Wayback Machine -- type web address, press enter, select from dates archived.
WebCite –no web crawler, i.e. users initiate archiving.
WebCite® -- on-demand archiving for references
Document gone, find a substitute.
Or Just deactivate & note when found inactive.
by removing brackets and before www or make it a hidden comment.
Or rework with other sources.
Verifiability: use reliable sources (publications).
Talk page: not a platform or casual conversation or spam. Discuss article improvements.
