The Modern Age is an EP by The Strokes. It was released in 2001, and sparked a bidding war among record labels; the largest for a rock and roll band in years.[1] The Strokes became the subject of enormous hype, causing a great divide among rock fans.

The song "The Modern Age" draws comparision to "I'm Waiting for the Man" by The Velvet Underground.

The lyrics and song structure are slightly different from those on their debut album, Is This It, released later in 2001.
