Holmewood House School is an independent, co-educational preparatory School located in Langton Green, Kent.

History

Founded in 1945, Holmewood House School is a co-educational preparatory school for children aged 3-13. Holmewood House School occupies a Decimus Burton building first built in 1827. The school began as an all-boys preparatory school. Co-education started in 1989 and there are now approximately 440 pupils.

Academic

Pupils are prepared for entry to senior independent schools at age thirteen, through Common Entrance or Scholarship examinations, as well as for entry to local maintained schools at eleven.

Sport and activities

Boys' sports include rugby, soccer, hockey and cricket. Girls participate in hockey, netball and rounders. School teams compete in local and national events, including IAPS tournaments.

Other sports and activities include shooting, pop lacrosse, squash, table tennis, judo, indoor hockey, swimming, archery and gymnastics, art, drama, music, design technology, ballet, modern dance, ICT, maths, needlework, chess and cookery.
