Swan Songs is the first album by american rap rock band Hollywood Undead. The album was released on September 2, 2008.[2] The album was released with a bonus track and an option to unlock a music video when purchased on Amazon.com[2] and at some select online retailers. "Undead", the first track on the album, appears on the soundtrack of the video game Madden NFL 09.[3] "Everywhere I Go" was the first single to be released. It was a web single and was available for download only on iTunes.[3] The band released four music videos for four songs on the album, "No.5", "Undead", "Young", and "Everywhere I Go"[3] The song "Young" is featured as downloadable content for the video game Rock Band 2. A music video was released on April 14, 2009 for the song "Young".

The album name Swan Songs represents the last song a swan sings before it dies. The band chose that name because it was "ironic" that their first CD should be named after something that means "the end".[citation needed]

Swan Songs was supposed to be released on the band's first label, MySpace Records in 2007, but it got postponed by the record label when the label wanted some songs removed and others censored. The band declined and switched labels to A&M/Octone which wouldn't require them to censor their songs.[4] The album peaked at #22 on the Billboard 200 and sold 21,000 copies on its debut week.[5] Swan Songs was released by Polydor Records on May 18, 2009 in the United Kingdom with two bonus tracks.[6] As of November 2009, it is at the lowest spot in the Billboard Top 200 at #199. The album has been on the Billboard 200 for 64 weeks.[7] On July 28, 2009, it was certified gold by the RIAA.[8][9]
